Correct, I'm not racist - but I do think that people should take personal responsibility for their own situation, and rarely blame others.

That's also one reason why "well, I guess god just doesn't want me to succeed - oh well, he knows best....." is one of the most harmful beliefs of all time..."god did it" is not a valid answer to any question.

Most of this nation are frightened of black people, no matter what race you are. For none of them will venture into a black area of any city especially after dark. Yes, they are fearful for their lives. When you call this racism, instead of what it is, intelligence...well, you might be a modern faux liberal.

But put trump in a group of well educated black people with money, success, and he is right at home. MLK had it right when he said not to judge anyone by the color of their skin, but by their character, or something along those lines. Many people fear the character of black folks. But they did this to themselves, unless you are a determinist and do not believe in free will and responsible behavior. Truth is, there is nothing or there is so little commendable when it comes to modern black culture. For it is a culture of violence which celebrates criminality and police hatred. It is devoid of traditional values, because they see traditional values as being white, and therefore must reject them. As soon as local black folks here where I live, move up the social and economic ladder, they get the hell out of the hoods, and move out in the rural area where I live. They do not want to raise their kids up in that black culture. They do not see success coming from work and education as being white, which is a derogatory term. It is a helluva thing when being white instead of black is equated to hard work and success and playing by the rules of the game.

I don't know who wrote the rules for black culture, but the wrong feller wrote them. But we do have a particular set of blacks who escaped from that black culture, and we have welcomed them where I live, for they have something in common with the white here in my rural area. They want a quiet, non violent, non criminal area in which to raise up their kids and embrace what we used to call american values. Not white values, not black values, but american values. Common sense values, and values which originate from intelligence with a moral compass.

 

I find it very strange that those (African Americans) who dislike whitey and white culture, don't just exploit it the way the Chinese do. When a given culture is willing to give you all the tools needed for relatively easy success, who cares whether you hate 'em. Take advantage of it/them, FFS!

You do have a point! It seems then to involve attitude, right? Of course dear oh dad always tried to teach me just how important attitude was when it came to providing for your family and being some kind of success.

It does seem that if the same thing had been given to another group of people, as this nation has given to blacks, another group would have exploited that leg up and used it in a really big way. So, attitude does matter, I think. This victim hood attitude coming from so many black americans has not helped them in any way. Sure, your ancestors were slaves, but that was long ago, and the race that enslaved you, set you free. And that same race after you were freed, nefariously took your rights away, and exploited your labor in a very predatory capitalistic manner. And yet, the Civil Rights Act brought back your rights and other federal laws stopped job discrimination even to the point that we put poorly educated black teachers into our schools, with one that I personally know of, that taught english but could not speak it nor write it properly. She retired a year ago with a pension. So, we bent over backward in so far as the law is required and we even chose lower grade blacks over high grade whites when it came to getting into college with this quota system. Now, we might have needed that quota system once upon a time, but today it should be dropped. For you have to remove the training wheels sooner or later so the person riding can ride without support.

Ah, the chinese. I think many of them think we are rather stupid, but are thankful the greed of our elites and their lust for really cheap labor, caused the US to give communist china the store. In exchange for access to that slave labor, we gave them a portion of each factory our corporations moved there, and of course we gave them our manufacturing technology, that took treasure and decades of engineering in order to develop. Our politicians, on behalf of the banksters and MNCs, gave communist china the store. As we gutted out our own industries. And those chinese chuckled at our greed driven stupidity. And yet now our gov't worries about the china which we enabled,empowered and enriched. No, I do not blame the chinese at all, for taking what we offered, even as they might hate us. I blame our treasonous elite ruling class, for bowing down to the wants and self interests of our banksters, MNCs and the elites who own them.

Unless something changes, I would advise the younger people here to make sure their kids take Mandarin in college and become proficient in that language. For the only thing to date which has enriched and empowered a nation is its science, technology and industries. Flipping hamburgers nor working in retail creates a powerful nation and never will. Giving this part of your economy away to a communist nation, which can turn its capitalism on a dime, was a treasonous act by our gov't, even if it did enrich our elites to the max, due to slave labor costs and how that affects profit margin.
