Authorities are investigating the death of 2 Black teenage boys who were fatally shot in their car..

All situations where the police come into contact with potential criminals (stolen car not stopping when specifically directed to 7 times by the officer) is life or death for them. That is what so many fail to see. They have fractions of seconds to make decision that will determine their fate. Until any of us stand in their shoes, we can couch quarterback all day long and it still doesn't mean we are right.

 

We could cure all this if police departments would only hire some of the "expert" QBs here!

 

I wouldn't agree that the driver was trying to run over the cop, the way it looked to me; it seemed to me that the driver was pulling into the adjacent driveway which, however, was in the same general direction as the deputy. Further, it didn't appear that the driver had, "punched," the accelerator, but 1) that is a harder determination to make because it is affected by the particulars of the vehicle and, 2) of course, a car does not have to be punched, in order to be a deadly weapon.

All that said, with 2 cops having their guns drawn, while yelling at you, repeatedly, to stop your vehicle, why are you still DRIVING? I think this unfortunate incident is the result of extreme stupidity and/or terrible judgement by the driver. I believe that it didn't need to end in fatalities, but it's hard to blame the deputies, under the circumstances.

Nevertheless-- & this is not a criticism of their intent, but more of their training or professional judgement (& this is just my honest, but unprofessional, opinion, so I could be mistaken)-- if this was merely a suspected stolen car incident (regardless of what may have, later, been discovered in a search of the vehicle), when the car pulled into the first driveway, my immediate thought was, "why is the cop stopping short, instead of blocking the car in?"

My thoughts are that the police possibly wanted to keep some distance from individuals suspected as being armed. Hopefully someone with police experience and training can address the tactics used in this incident.

 

You mean black teenage boys not engage in crime and when the police come to investigate not try to use a stolen car as a weapon. I think maybe you confuse who was lacking "training". Did you even watch the body cam footage?

Which is the elephant in the room the leftist/Dems/progs never want to address. The BEST way to end black men and boys getting shot is to stop them from committing so much crime. Just as the best way to improve the life and living standards of blacks is to stop the crime in their communities. But instead we have a VP elect who wants to defund police and raises funds to bail out criminals.

 

It's not profiling it's the fact Blacks especially black men and teenagers commit so much crime proportional to their race and then when attempts to arrest them they engage in violent resistance to those arrest. It's black men and boys who need to be "trained" and need to change their behaviors.

4) in dispute, but the officer may have had valid reason to believe that was happening. If true it is a justified shooting even though I believe the officer acted recklessly by putting himself in that position. Even if the suspects got out of the car and were arrested it was a bad move once the car started moving to put yourself directly in front of it.

 

Bingo. The issue now is, if the only way to make money in news is to lie, create fear, or create false drama, we’re all in for a world of hurt. There will be no reason to watch any that **** anymore, which will make them all even MORE desperate to create even worse drama.

Expecting transparency out of politicians is something we should all bind together and push for. They will divide us as they always do and distract us from this reality, but maybe one day we will overcome that.

 

You might feel differently if you had a car coming straight at you that you ordered to stop multiple times. The officer started firing when the vehicle was headed straight toward him. This was suicide by total stupidity.
