We sort of agree. I believe that a woman should be shown any and all options to abortion and every effort made to convince her that abortion is not the necessary thing. But, that being said, any woman that then believes she MUST have an abortion, should be allowed to legally get one. If she is not allowed to legally get one, then the odds are great she will try for an illegal one. Illegal abortions kill young women. I prefer the removal of a million fetuses to the death of ONE young woman in an illegal abortion.
Correct, most physicians are NOT doctors. They receive a degree in APPLIED medicine. The are like engineers, applying what scientists learn. "Scientists", do research and attempt to learn new things. Most physicians are not classical scientists, although they USE the science discovered by others.
I personally am for legal abortion of ANY kind, for ANY reason that a woman wants one, PERIOD. I dislike the concept of abortion, but, I strongly believe that any woman who wishes to have an abortion should be allowed to get a legal one at any time for any reason she considers legitimate.

You have not shown any figures to ascertain what portion of "excess costs" these factors amount to, but I do not think that it is the overwhelming portion.

I hope that you are getting better and on your way to being cured. I am sure it is not an easy thing you are going through. I was just trying to make the point that the poster who said that insurance keep anyone alive was in the least ignorant in that post, uninformed or both.
This may come as a shock to you but that is what most people believe and wish. Unfortunately we do not live in a prefect world.
And even if they were doctors, Engineers, embryologists and so on it would be no different than an opinion from anyone who has taken one or two Biology courses. It is Biologists who are the subject matter experts in relation to what is a human and what is not from a scientific perspective. Next in line would be Philosophers from an ethical and moral perspective.
Well isn't that special. Appointing yourself the most important opinion on abortion. How idiotic. The problem with many scientists is that their common sense reasoning ability is suspect.
Now who can argue with that? A luminary such as Whaler declared published and recognized scientists as lacking "common sense reasoning ability" whatever that means, but still it must be so. In light of such crucial revelation from such a proven infallible source, any further arguments are futile.
Nope, I am not 'getting better'. All my medications are either for pain or "maintenance. Pain, sickness and injury are old friends, lol. When you hurt, one thing is sure, you are not dead. Lol, one great thing about being an atheist is that I do not have to worry about where I am going after death, hehe. I am certainly not going to hell, since neither hell, nor heaven exist. I will die and that will be it. I will be exactly in the same situation I was in before I was born--non-existent.
I wish/think/believe that no woman would ever wish to have an abortion. But, as the saying goes, wish in one hand, poop in the other and see which one is full. The fact is, that for whatever reason, some women will seek an abortion. As long as that fact exists, abortions must be legal, since making them illegal will not stop a person from seeking one. PERIOD, end of story. Well, not quite.....I have no problem with doing anything possible to change a woman's mind about abortion. But, when that mind cannot be changed, legal, safe and free abortion must be allowed. And I say free, because some of the women that will wish an abortion will not be able to afford one, if they have a choice between not being able to get one or trying some internet method of home abortion, they will try a home abortion and many will die.
