Great question. The weapon that killed Brandon Lee wasn't a livee round, but a dummy round (no powder propellant) with a live primer cap. They use these to make it look like a revolver or magazine have a live rounds are there. When they pulled the trigger, the primer cap had enough propellant to dislodge the projectile into the barrel. When they changed to blanks for effect, the blank had enough propellant to fire the projectile into Lee, killing him. This is 100% negligence having live ammo at, near or even the same proximity of the set.

Ever just pop a CCI large rifle or large pistol primer? They make a pretty good POP, pretty sure they accelerate something other than a bullet around 600+ fps. Hell I have a pellet rifle that advertised 1300fps and both those primers are much louder then the air rifle?

My understanding is that it was a single action colt that requires the trigger to be cocked before it can fire. If he failed to clear it, cocked the trigger and pointed at someone... I don't see any other candidates for the responsibility for the shooting.

A self-absorbed liberal Hollywood elite refuses to take responsibility for his actions. Color me shocked...

Wait and see. The devil is in the details.

Personally and at the very least in my opinion, anyone who gets handed a firearm on a movie set should check the status of the weapon before doing anything with it. It's just to quick and simple a precaution.

I will defend him in that actors never think they’re being handed a loaded gun on a movie set. Just like a Director isn’t worried if the cameras batteries are charged or there’s enough memory on the card to shoot the scene, actors aren’t thinking about those details. They figure others have it handled. I’ve been on a number of sets and unless it’s super low budget people trust that all jobs are handled by those responsible. Director isn’t thinking about craft services. Actors familiar with firearms may take the couple seconds to check the chamber, not Baldwin.

But I will not defend BS that a gun shoots itself. Sorry.

I call BS. If everyone wasn't clear on this when Brandon Lee was killed on set, they sure as hell knew it after he was dead.

“It’s inexcusable that any live ammo would be mixed in with the blanks,” he said. “However, it’s inexcusable not to check and see if your weapon is loaded. … Whoever hands me a weapon, I check it.”

We are all legally required to act in a manner of a Reasonable Person Acting Prudently. This dipshit clearly didn't.

unless they find who put the live round in there, no one will be charged criminally

but civilly, he will be liable imo

We should just start a thread titled "I hate Liberals because .............." and people could just fill in the blanks.
It might make things easier for some of the readers.
    Just a suggestion.

Actually it was our founding Fathers who provided the right. And we keep it in remembrance as well as to support wise regulations.

For a guy who knows so little about guns, Baldwin sure has pointed his finger a lot on the matter. Now by his saying he didn't pull the trigger, he is absolving himself of the obligation to make sure it was a cold gun. But who knows. A revolver must be cocked and then discharged, or the hammer pulled back and released before being fully cocked for it to fire on its own without pulling the trigger. Clearly it was not his intent to harm anyone, but simply to make a movie. I don't hold anything against him. However there is a dead woman. And justice will require an accounting. Maybe all of this will cause a modification of the leftist mind set and make them a gentler species.

Funny thing is, if he had manned up and admitted to accidentally firing the gun right off the bat, he more than likely wouldn't even be charged. Just settle with the deceased woman's family.

I think at the most it would be negligent manslaughter since he did point the gun and pulled the trigger, but I really don't believe he intended to kill anyone. I think he was under the impression the gun was empty and was just messing around. Not a great thing to do with a gun but like I said, I doubt he killed anyone intentionally.

It is the responsibility of every single person who handles a gun to ensure it isn't loaded regardless of what you're told.....basic gun safety.

Being an actor doesn't excuse you from this responsibility.

It is indisputable that Baldwin didn't practice basic gun safety and you want to excuse him for it simply because he's a lefty. Yet another example of rules for thee but not for me.....I'm shocked.

Nope you pick up a firearm it's your responsibility to keep your finger off the trigger, check if there is a bullet under the pin, safety is on and the firearm is not pointed at anyone!

You would have failed even the most basic hunter/firearm safety course that 12 year old's pass here, believe that!

Alec Baldwin took everything Halyna Hutchins had and everything she could have had in the future, because of his ignorance and stupidity. Even if he's sentenced to a long Jail sentence, he'll still be able to have contact with his Wife and Children and get 3 meals a day and see the Sun rise and set. Halyna Hutchins now gets to spend eternity in the cold damp Earth and will NEVER! get to see her Son grow up and her Son only got to spend 9 short years with his Mother, there's no way of making this right except for him to get a sound spanking from the Judge when he's sentenced. There needs to be a MUCH! more serious penalty than Alec Baldwin just forking out $Millions in restitution to her Family, because he'll still get to live a lavish lifestyle regardless, HE! deserves some serious Prison time to rethink his ways and to stop being such a JackAss to people. He's Flesh and Blood, just like the rest of us and not above being sent to Jail. All those Stupid Trump skits he did on SNL, I wonder who's laughing now watching this idiot cry his Crocodile Tears on Camera. Maybe Baldwin will win an Oscar for Best Cryer in a Leading role.
