According to this article Colt Army revolvers have a safety notch and a half cokk notch. If it is possible to fire a Colt by simply releasing the hammer, wouldn't that suggest a gun defect?

Here you go and note in the clip of the interview he says he pulls it back to just before the fully chocked position. Only if it gets back to the full position and then with the trigger held down.

And if you release the hammer while pointing it at someone............................

He's getting a manslaughter charge is my bet.

This is the ignorance of liberals when it comes to firearms. The only time you point a weapon at someone is when you are fearing for your life and you plan to use your weapon.

And I understand prop guns, but it makes no sense any more for them to have real weapons on a set. You can easily create fake guns that look like real guns and then use sound effects for the firing noise.

Baldwin owns some if not all of what happened on that set.

Rule number two. Never point a firearm at anyone. Even if not loaded.

All I can think about this situation is how could any company or individual allow this to happen? This should be the last time an accident like this ever happens.

Well you know. It's not like he's like a right wing gun crazed kid getting a gun from his parents as an early Christmas gift, and uses it to massacre kids at his school.

And just because he had that gun in his hand, it doesn't mean he is guilty. It's his job to have that gun in his hand and point it around. It's not his job to check if it's safe. That was the job of somebody else.

That's not how it works on a movie set.

That's how IT ALWAYS work when you pick up a firearm. You could not pass a firearm safety course that 12 year olds must pass here to hunt..

Agree with all of that. I even think it should be required that any actor who has to use a real one on set be trained or certified in gun safety

And you have no clue if the firing pins have been removed, if they are loaded or not loaded and if weapon was inspected by each person holding them. Hell you don't even know if they are metal or plastic LMFAO ;)

    All plastic toys

I'm not a firearms expert but I'm pretty darn sure that every one of those guns in that picture has a safety on them - "Red means dead" is what my wife and I were taught before we got our licences a few years ago.

The gun Alec has - so far as I know, Colt .45 revolvers do not have a safety. That makes it even MORE imperative you treat them as if they are loaded.

Serious question: Have you ever gotten a gun license? I don't think you're seeing what gun owners are seeing.

That is a very bizarre conspiracy theory indicative of TDS.

You're projecting if events were reversed. You have virtually zero clue how Trump supporters think, but here you are spouting off blindly.

I know very well how you and the other Trumpists think: you want to win at all costs.

And you are most likely rigging the next election in your favor.

Then if Biden lose, he can also claim that he was robbed of the result and mobilize his supporters to stay in power.

    You can't be against that.

The unfortunate truth is that there is a lot of extremely delusional people on message boards like PF.

@FreshAir probably really believes that a huge celebrity movie star shooting a very attractive camera girl and killing her on a movie set would get zero media coverage, if it wasn't for DJT.

    TDS is a mental illness.

100% - and we just got that study that 54% of women on the Left have mental illness issues. I wonder what that number is among Leftist men?

Now I am a Trumpist? lol

Does that make you a Bidenist?

This is all so dumb. Baldwin is a ghoul.

yes, a Trump supporter sabotaging the set would be a sign of TDS, just like the 1-6 Trump supporters chanting "hang Mike Pence" was a sign of TDS

Trump has a bad case of TDS, he is patient zero, why the disease is named after him, is he contagious?

So much for never point a gun at anybody.
You think all movies with guns are toy guns / pin being removed? Geez, you're naïve.
It's well known that they mostly use real guns, while they add CGI all over the place.
It doesn't make sense, but that's how it is.

Ah... so suddenly the rule becomes.... never point a gun at somebody unless the safety is on.
    /facepalm

The thing remains that the use of real life guns on a set is absolutely normal, while the add CGI all over the place.
I am not saying that it makes sense, but that is how it is. And with that, Baldwin did nothing odd with pointing a gun at somebody on a set.
There were people employed to specifically make sure it was going to be safe without real ammunition. We all know they were there.
    And that person isn't Baldwin.

According to George Clooney, what Baldwin did was wrong. Clooney checks the gun every single time without exception. The difference between Clooney and Baldwin is that Clooney never shot anybody. This is not rocket science. Baldwin is a hack with no regard whatsoever for gun safety. It is not in the least surprising that he killed somebody and it is not surprising that he takes 0 responsibility.... I would not expect anything less.
