Why do people always want to ban everything that is fun? Violent videogames, pornography, marijuana and cheerleading, but want to keep all the boring stuff like public school, cable tv and government?

As long as participation is voluntary, what's the problem? Want to ban an activity, show that the activity violates someone's rights. What rights do cheerleaders violate?

You are dealing with the PC crowd. For them, rights don't matter, only feelings matter (their feelings, not yours).

Cheerleaders hurt their feelings? I can't wait to hear an explanation for that.

I'm sure it has something to do with denigrating women, women as sex symbols, scantily dressed women bouncing around provocatively and corrupting society and giving men "ideas".

Or it could just be that cheerleaders are cute, and feminists are jealous?

If the NFL is going to ban cheerleaders because of exposed skin, then it needs to ban photos/film of naked players and bar reporters from taking those pictures in the locker room.

Oh I'm sure that the crazy feminists would take that deal.

I didn't listen to the audio on that vid, but the footage of 'cheerleaders' was interesting.

Hilariously, they ALL had pretty much exactly the same 90's porn-star hair, and the white ones were all orange (Trump fake tan style). They all had absurd fake eyelashes, and heavy, 20-years-out-of-date makeup.

About as classy a bunch of women as you're likely to find. In a trailer park.

I call it as I see it, Rittz.

And I see a bizarre fashion time warp in America. Suntans? Seriously? In 2018?

It is fashion here too, but only amongst teens or what we call 'fjortisar':

Oh we also have it ... but it's very much a 'bogan' thing. Bogans are upper working class and middle class aspirational types who subscribe to a suburban aesthetic. They usually have enormous mortgages, brand new cars, 90's hair, suntans, their men are clean shaven, and they don't know much about cheese :p

Our rednecks don't do beaches and/or bikinis, so no tans sought or acquired.

Gee, feminists must be ugly because after all you assume none of us were cheerleaders. You’re obviously quite sexist
I don’t think cheerleading should be banned anymore than gymnastics should be banned. Girls win scholarships to colleges for the sport. I do think that the professional cheerleaders are being exploited because they are not paid decent wages

Volleyball has become quite a serious sport. My granddaughters are on varsity and wow it’s not like when I was a kid. I agree with you about being involved in school activities

Guess you weren’t aware of present-day cheerleading. These are quite rigorous gymnastics and as I said they get girls into college.

I never understood the American phenomenon of "College Sports" - Idiots who barely pass high school get scholarships because they can throw a ball and are accepted to college solely for their athelticism even if they completely lack the brains.

LOL! Sorry, girls are girls and boys are boys. There are those who are gender fluid but that only proves there is a spectrum.

I was watching an interview with a mother and young daughter, perhaps age 10, on CNN. At the end off the interview, the anchor told the girl that her dress was really pretty. The little girl gushed like little girls do. While there are exceptions, no way in the world does a typical a boy react that way; just like the little girls didn't like the games us boys played when we were kids.

Stop trying to deny people their right to sexuality. We aren't nuns and priests. And guess what, women WANT to be pretty. It is in their nature. Just as it is in the nature of boys to make fools of themselves to impress girls.

After a few dates, I have actually asked women to ease up and not knock themselves out when they are coming over. Just keep it casual and comfortable. Several times now they have responded by saying that they don't get all decked out that often. They want to get dressed up. It's fun. They want to look as pretty as they can.

Actually girls liked the games boys played were banned from them. My granddaughter is on varsity lacrosse and basketball,

Women are lucky because we have so many options. We can wear fancy dresses, we can wear tee shirts...men work in their suit uniforms

    a) I'm not American. Cheer-leading is regarded as a trailer trash novelty, where I live.

    b) Who cares what 'gymnastics' are involved if the girls are packaged and groomed as sex objects. When they start wearing proper sports attire, no makeup, and hair tied back, then I'll take the gymnastics seriously.

    c) Sport getting people into university is absurd. Here, you have to meet academic criteria. You know, because university is academic. Unless of course you don't mind your cardiac surgeon being awesome at football, but too stupid to gain academic entry to medicine?

What constitutes 'pretty' is entirely subjective.

Some women think it means makeup and high heels. Some don't.
