Wow... a conversation about things to consider if you plan to be a criminal... wow.
There are lots of people out like that and worst yet they blame those around them for not liking them.
I’ve been pondering this questions for several days now. So long that I’ve decided to buy a new 9mm carry piece as my current .380 is just to small of caliber. The 9mm is a step up and the round is so popular that it’s cheaper than the .380. Besides my last purchase was an AR15 assault rifle.
oh, regarding banning. Let’s bann long knives.
9mm is ok, but I prefer 40S&W. Miitary went from 45 ACP to 9mm with the proliferation of women in the military. The FBI developed 40S&W because they did not consider 9mm to have enough OOMPH (a technical term).
How long did it take for you to get your NFA approved to buy it?
You can walk into a gun store and all that is needed to buy an AR 15 is a simple phone call for a NAC (National Agency Check). In most states it takes only a few moments.
By the way... what is an "assault rifle". 50 states... 50 different definitions.
No, states ban "assault weapons", which include some semiautomatic rifles but not other semiautomatic rifles, some semiautomatic handguns but not other semiautomatic handguns, and some semiautomatic shotguns but not other semiautomatic shotguns. "Assault rifles" are a intermediate caliber selective/burst fire service rifle.
All you need to be an "assault rifle" in California is have a removable magazine, a bayonet stud and forward hand grip... no specific caliber... no "selective/burst fire" requirement.
I think you mean "assault weapon".
Oh gees... another lawyer.
Laws are pedantic.
Dictionary.com defines pedantic as: "nit-picking"... "academic"... "arid"... "dull"..."egotistic"... "priggish"...
I try to keep it simple.
We aren't banning either so forget it!
Don't BAN! EXPAND!
You betcha. Australia did the ban thing now they treat their citizens like zoo animals for not wearing masks! Not happening in Arizona, Texas or Florida anyway!
Wonderful, spot-on post! And there is a silver lining! As New York forces thousands of medical professionals out of their jobs over the vaccine, states like Texas are benefiting. Many are moving here, where we welcome them with open arms.
Good for you. Josh Sugarman appreciates your support.
Actually it's a NICS check and depending on call volume can take up to a day or more to get an approval.
National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS)
The NICS conducts background checks on people who want to own a firearm or explosive, as required by law.
Incorrect there is only one proper definition of an assault rifle and that is a light rifle capable of selective fire be it full auto or limited burst, all other terms for such are anti-gunner BS.
No you are getting it incoccrect by buying into anti-gunner terms.
NICS NAC nickety tic tac... It's taken only a few moments as I waited in the store on multiple occasions.
Guns are a great hobby. Nothing like packing a picnic basket, driving out into the boonies, setting up targets and having some fun competition. Fresh air, friends, food, sunshine... can't be beat. Another benefit I have found... becalmed sailing and reloading are the two most relaxing activities on earth.
I chose handguns to be banned, because doing so would do so much damage to the agenda to disarm America it would be generations before any politician dared mention 'gun control' ever again. The 'no one is coming for your guns' lie would be well and truly cooked, and millions of CCW democrats who currently think 'black rifles bad' would instantly be stocking up on them. So plz do it.
Owning guns is a right. Discussions of banning them are as scary as discussions about banning voting.
We now have 19 states with either Constitutional Carry or Permitless Carry laws. I think the entire country should have such laws. The right to own and carry is a Constitutionally guaranteed Civil Right, after all.
