She's dressed inappropriately for attending functions with the Deputy Prime Minister... to me that's a fact, what is debatable is whether she is just simply oblivious to work dress code in general or whether she knows exactly what she is doing...

All I have is acquaintances with people who have actually been senior advisers to deputy PMs & Deputy opposition leaders. For years, in fact. They seem somewhat less exercised by her attire than you, but they probably don't have your corporate experience.

How short sighted people can be. The real issue is that America become a country that is not over burdened with guns. That America become a normal country with gun ownershhip on a par with other modern, developed, democratic nations. That should be our objective.

I inform you I have a corporate background instead and you for some reason have issue with it... I also don't see why the office of the Deputy Prime Minister should have lower standards than the workplace in Australia... especially when attending events. Men wear suits do they not?

I also find it absurd that as a society we are not allowed to acknowledge that women use clothing to seduce, and as soon as it is stated a man have been seduced you yell slut shaming... what happened to the truth? My judgement is that she was inappropriately dressed and either seduced him or were already in a relationship and put something sexy on... fully aware of how he would respond. Women do these things... why can it not be said.

I have no issue with your corporate background. Yay for you. I have an issue with the idea that it somehow equips you to make the judgments you are making based on a single out of context image. You clearly have no experience in or knowledge of the job ms Campion did, so why pretend that your experience is relevant? In case you missed the inference, you aren't the only one to work in the corporate world. It gives you no insight worth having on this issue.

I'll go with the insights of people I know who have done the exact same job as Ms Campion or a close equivalent. They don't care.

Don't try to turn this on me just because you won't own the judgments you've made. That you lack the courage to step out from behind the inferences and just say the words just makes it worse. I haven't passed a single judgement on Ms Campion because I'm not so full of myself that I think judging a private individual of whom I basically know nothing is appropriate. I would be genuinely ashamed to have written some of the things you have written, but we clearly and thankfully have very different standards on these matters.

I am happy to judge Mr Joyce, who is a public figure of long standing and has made his values and his family an integral part of his political views.

 

I must confess that I thought her clothes in that photo were more appropriate for the beach. Isn't there a dress code for staff in Parliament House?

Your honesty on issue as a woman is welcome. It’s an on-going debate about women’s dress sense and the intended response.

Women obviously love to feel sexy these days and husbands love their women feeling sexy. There is classy sexy and trashy sexy as far as I’m concerned :O!

When a woman is interested, you initially can’t tell because they play the “I’m oblivious to you” game. If you keep em hanging intentionally or unintentionally, before you know it their tits are hanging out all over ya! Hey I’m just being honest as a former professional player ; ) She probably attempted the old look towards the crotch area multiple times but couldn’t elicit a response from the old bull. (Women who are keenly interested do this.....don’t they SW?)

Different to you though I don’t think they were necessarily bonking at this stage unless the date of this convention suggests otherwise! I think she was actually at that next stage of being suggestive and desparately attempting to gain his undivided attention!
Hey, then again she may have liked what she got last night and wanted to keep him primed! She didn’t want it to be a once off mistake, she may have wanted to ensure that hook was securely jagged in his upper lip!

I think there's a lot of confusion out there about women, men and the age old game of catch me I'm yours. It is being confused with abuse and sexual abuse issues..an entirely separate matter. Where some suggest if a women wears a short dress she practically asked for rape... ridiculous of course but not to be confused with the situation we are discussion...which are completely consensual.

Yes if a woman is interested she's going to try and get your attention...although admittedly I do have my limits on how much of my cleavage and boobs I'm going to hang out for you ..in private or the right occasion of course is a different matter

What I think is important though is when we're talking about a high level of office, same goes for the boardroom... there are a dress code and even if you are sleeping with your boss, you should not be wearing it on your "sleeve".... it is unprofessional and potentially damaging to your and his career. To me this demonstrate they both made some very bad judgements in this saga.

 

Got to agree, she didn’t look dressed for the occasion it seems. Maybe she was out shopping and got a late call to be at the event immediately? Maybe she spilt coffee on the front of her dress and happen to have casual clothes packed? She may have popped in for 5 minutes to communicate information but got caught and had to wait for an opportunity to leave?
Yeah, the more believable story is that she wanted to attract the attention of one person, which is more credible after the fact!

Anyway, if a woman is in a short skirt with tits hanging out, she may be seeking attention of a potential play mate, maybe a long term partner. I think some men confuse that with.....”she wants whoever, so I’m a chance and subsequently over step boundaries”! A classy dressed lady is likely to scare off the unwanted extreme attention of sleaze bags due to the exuding confidence. That’s my take! : )

Yes I wouldn't say he appears to be a good long-term prospect as a father and partner, but appearances can be deceiving. One good thing he did was stand down, and I am talking from a personal relationship point of view not a political one. There would have been constant media and opposition attention, better to back away quietly and get on with his family, something he should place first anyway, particularly with his much sprewked family values (sic). (I can use sic there yes? meaning they are what I read quoted, not my opinion .. yes)

Of course, having to give up politics (for both of them really) will put a pressure on their relationships so careful management and a strong commitment will be needed. We have all seen their dirty laundry now, time to stop hanging it out in public and use a clothes dryer.
