Congress can't even pass a law. It won't be able to amend the constitution. We have no socialism in the U.S. and won't unless the government takes over the health industry. Socialism is an economic system, not to be confused with partisan politics. Highways are not socialist. They were built using taxpayer money to pay the private sector to build them. If the government itself had built the roads, then that would be socialism.

Since I don't accept your premise, it is pretty silly to ask me to illustrate it.

So I guess Medicare as it is now is not a form of socialism? As far as I know I'm not paying any fees for GPS. I think it works all over the planet like it's supposed to.

I believe the private sector kills people with their healthcare. they're worried about making a profit they're not worried about saving lives

Our healthcare system needs a huge overhaul. And the insurance agents are greedy.

I thought you didn't understand my premise?

I'll try another way...Look at Maine. They have term limits. What happens, as soon as they term out in one branch they run in another or get appointed to the cabinet of senior positions in that bureaucracy. As soon as they begin to get a handle on how to get things done, they are termed out. The only continuity is in the bureaucracy who govern by regulation

No, health care is provided by the private sector. Medicare is a government program, paid by taxpayers, that pays for it.

Sorry, that is just nuts. But you can believe whatever you like.

Many folk say that but sort of forget the other things, not actual healthcare related, that keep the price down (taxes)....The universe of health care providers are essentially on a government salary and make 1/3 to 1/2 LESS than US doctors and nurses. Under the dems scheme private health insurance goes away. That means millions of insurance folk get unemployed. In addition, all the benefits unions have received over the years also go away...

One is left with crap plans at extreme tax levels...Do the medical professionals whose income will take a giant hit really understand the costs?

Ah, one of the reasons that the BBC despite all its' flaws is truly great. Apparently very popular in India who identify with the wiles of bureaucracy.

Give everyone a six year term. Elect 1/3 of them every 2 years. It isn't any more complicated than that.
