Children who take over the dance floor.
Women who cannot talk without waving their hands.
Strangers who call me "honey" and "sweetheart."
TV announcers who keep making the same mistakes in their English.

People who say "radical leftist" or "radical rightist," and use insults instead of arguments.

Okay, so it isn't an annoyance, but it is a personal irritation: I was watching on tv news one of the female-oriented anti-Kavanaugh protests, and saw to my horror that the peculiar habit first dreamed up here (UK) of women hacking the knees out of denim trousers has now reached the US; and I have previously noticed that it has caught on in Japan and Australia. That even one woman on the planet would think it a good idea to do such a bizarre thing is weird enough, but for it to catch on world wide? [IMG]. And it isn't only dumb kids who are doing it, so are females of child-bearing age. As an added point of interest, I understand that if anyone buys new, they must pay extra if the jeans have already been mutilated. Stop the world, I want to get off! :eyepopping:

This has been a thing for the last thirty years. Not a look for me, my knees aren't worth displaying.

As I was reminded last Thursday in Sainsbury's, now that Brussels sprouts are back in season . . . effing women standing in front of me whilst I'm waiting to get mine, picking up one at a time, turning it over and over to make sure it meets their exacting standards before bagging them. I usually just shove 'em out of the bloody way!

Those who are reactive and not proactive.

When someone criticises but doesn't offer a solution.

Those who didn't try, lack of effort.

    The phrase, "So moving forward"

The phrase, "Now that's what I'm talking about".

    When someone doesn't reciprocate altruism.

Nuh. Theyre not worth it. Even when cooked to perfection they are not nice.
Broccoli now, is a different matter. Or peas.

Ah Nonnie. If you expect altruism in return for altruism, you may be sadly disappointed. Altruism now is often seen as the mark of a sucker.

Another way of saying, you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours. If I've scratched someone's back and they never return the favour, I'm always polite but won't do anything for them again. Their loss.

Total strangers who introduce themselves with 'Hello Mr Cerberus, how are you?' knowing they don't care how I am any more than I care how they are. And related to that, opening an email in the morning which begins 'Good afternoon', or opening one in the afternoon which begins 'Good morning'. :furious:

I always take it that when someone says they don't like sprouts, their first taste of them was when sprouts were out of season, so they tasted sour; and worse than that - if they'd been overcooked and were squidgy. While they're in season I always buy twice as many as I need, ensure I time them to have that firmness to the bite, and scoff about half of them straight out of the saucepan just before serving the entire meal.

I saw a recipe for Brussels sprouts with bacon. The bacon was lovely, didn't do much for the sprouts.
Perhaps they are like coriander , and there's a gene which lets you loathe or live them.
