Because it wasn’t relevant. Yes they were just random US Citizens...that’s all they are...and they are allowed to donate to whatever they want. Like I said it would be much different if a wife worked at CU
. It was a pretty easy clas though, clearly the law violates the first amendment.

Hmmm.... I don't know Bernie Sander's well but I wonder if this is a stroke of genius on his part. I believe he raised a ton of small dollar donations last time. If he can do it again this move could essentially destroy a lot of his progressive challengers. Wouldn't they also feel the need to support their campaign workers and allow them to unionize? If they don't, Sanders can paint them as anti-progressive and against workers which would be death to a progressive candidate. If they can not raise money like the Sanders campaign they could be in serious trouble or at the very least their money will be stretched farther. Like I said I don't follow Sanders so this is just speculation... Maybe a Sanders supporter can enlighten me.

With this logic If the Koch’s were catholic and put money in the offering plate then these judges couldn’t hear cases involving the church

If it wasn’t relevant, then they should have had no problem disclosing those financial links. They had no problem disclosing other non-relevant financial links to other groups.

In this scenario, are the Koch’s one of the single largest sources of funding for the entire Catholic Church?

. Doesn’t matter how much the donation is. Why should it?

Yes they did. They were one of its largest sources of money, if not the largest.

It does matter. Large doners have massive influence over organizations.

They likely won't be employed very long anyway.

So how much is the magic percentage that a employer has to donate to an organization for the husband of an employee to recuse himself from hearing about said organizations first amendment claim?

To the Koch's, yes they did. And the Koch's had serious ties to Citizens United.

If the ties with the Koch's were irrelevant, why didn't the Justices just admit those ties existed? They had no problem disclosing ties with other non-relevant bodies.

Also, most importantly, why am I bothering to debate with someone who has proven that they will happily lie and maintain an objectively wrong stance even when presented with evidence?

Have fun in my ignore list, slies.

Not to Citizens United...as highlighted what an employee donates to is irrelevant.

I'm not, I love it and I hope it spreads to the other Democrat Candidates.

A true leftist would pay all of the people in his campaign equally, from top to bottom.

I hope Bernie isn't discriminating and paying some more than others.

This is actually quite ironic. The union could essentially call a strike which woukd shut down the Sanders campaign unless he paid them. If that happens, he might need to sell one of his houses to finance the union’s blackmail.

My ex girlfriend was a delegate for Sanders in 2016 and had to pay all of her own expenses to Philly. Now that he’s running again she’s in love again.
