Getting access to the alien files is not just a matter of getting a top level security clearance, but it's also restricted on a need to know basis. There's no way a sitting President has access to such files, unless, of course, they got a need to know access pass before they became President.

I wouldn't want to know everything. I'd want to know what I needed to know. I think it would be too much to handle all at once. There is so much going on that a president ages more quickly than the average citizen. The president has way too much to deal with.

However, having a book or reference source of some sort would be interesting, if you could just check it out once in a while.

Here's another issue. Do you know how many people would want to kidnap and torture you for the information you would have? If this is true, you can see why former presidents have guards. Even if the book or reference source does not exist, there are many things which would be critical information to other nations and well worth kidnap and torture.
