Looking for another source of free cash! I support gay marriage. Can I get a tax break?

No. It should not be illegal. But that is my opinion. People can attend any church they want. I know of no Church in my County that bands anyone. As it should be, God loves everyone and so should we.

That's a direct attack on the first Amendment and religious freedom.

I agree, but what did you mean by, "they should NOT BE ABLE to ban people in a same sex marriage from attending services?"

Where in the first amendment does it say religious institutions cannot be taxed?

Why do you talk in such fallacious generalization. "All the Dems" have not called for revoking tax exempt status for being against SSM - and this would be a violation of freedom of religion - and many Dems respect this principle.

On the other side - the religions right has a very poor track record of respecting freedom from religion.

Biden is moderate in comparison to the others .. a tried and true Establishment wonk who will not mess with the Status quo. The Establishment doesn't care if he has memory lapses ...

The left does NOT respect the freedom of religion, or the constitution AT ALL.

You are right, Biden is a moderate, compared to the rest of the Democrats.

That doesn't make him a moderate.
Particularly with how unmoderate his comrades in the house and senate are.

"Some" on the left do not respect freedom of Religion - in general though . freedom of religion is respected. Most Dems are Christians don't forget. I think you would be hard pressed to come up with solid examples of attacks on religious freedom that the whole left agrees with. Certainly not the tax exempt thing on the basis of claiming homosexuality is a sin.

The constitution is another matter - that and the founding principles - I have posted and started threads on this topic.

The first thing to say though is that it is a mistake to only call out the left for this - both sides of the Establishmemt hate the founding principles - the rule of law - and the constitution "Except for things they agree with".

Our nation has moved from one that had respect for individual liberty - as this is what we are founded on - to one who disregards individual liberty for "collectivism". "What is best for the collective" aka "Utilitarianism".

This justification for law completely disregards the rights of the individual and looks only at what is best or "what will increase happiness" for the collective.

Take Pot for example - what are the arguments against legalization - "Harm Reduction" / "if it saves one life"

It matters not whether or not one likes Pot. That is not the question of a referendum. The question of a referendum is "Does one have sufficient justification to force others not to use pot - through physical violence - (Law)"

The bar in a Constitutional Republic is not 50+1 or Simple Majority Mandate ( that some elected leader can mess with individual liberty on the basis of being elected) .. Both Republicanism and Classical Liberalism refer to the aforementioned as "Tyranny of the Majority". the bar is "overwhelming majority". (at least 2/3rds)

We now live in the land of "Tyranny of the Minority". There is no "overwhelming majority" that thinks pot is so dangerous - that Gov't should be given power to ban it and punish people for using the stuff. Such law is then "illegitimate - illegitimacy of authority"

The mantra these days is "Trade Liberty for Security" - on both sides of the fence.

    This is dumb.

No church should loose their tax exempt status just because they dont support same sex marriage.

    This is totally absurd.

They should loose their tax exempt status because it should have never been granted to them in the first place. No reason needed.

Now this gave me belly laughs! I thank God, you were inspired by him to find this clip and post this for all of us. And God gave each one of us a laptop, or smart phone and an internet connection/ wifi with which to attend his meaning and his purpose in watching it. Praise be!
