So, any entertainment deals are officially cancelled indefinitely, right? Who wants to take bets=)

I would have used a FOX link, but then certain people wouldn't believe it. What's MOST amusing is the lack of news stories from Google linking to any of the major networks, including the big 3 and CNN, NYT, ect....as of 8:06am. How utterly fascinating. The MSM won't report on their own, showing what fair and non biased news sources they are, hehehe. /wall

Midler may believe there is some sisterhood when there isn't. For example, more white women who voted did so for Trump than they did for Hillary.

And this lady is a 1st worlder. She's equating actual traumatic experiences that some groups suffer/ed with the ability to bring forth unsubstantiated allegations decades into the future against a political opponent.

She seems to make a fair point. I understood it. Perhaps it was too complex for the average Trump fan. She also went on to apologize to whom it may have offended.

Now 10:30am and according to Google, the big 3, CNN, NYT and most of the rest haven't mentioned diddly squat. Not a peep. Do we need any more proof of how biased the MSM is? HuffPo at least acknowledged it, but of course treated her with kid gloves and sympathy, quite DIFFERENTLY than Rosanne for example. Sorry folks...NOT a conspiracy. Fair reporting is ****ing gone!

So, anyone can use the Nword as long as they make a point in your eyes? Just checking to see where the nuances lies this time around. I mean Papa John couldn't say the word with zero bearing on anyone, and Cramer from Seinfeld seemed to be making a point with shock comedy.

Sorry, but that seems to be a homo paleas, a boring and common creature spawned form the loins of partisan failure.

Right. That's why she's apologizing for it because its such a fair point.

Not that complex at all as evidenced
by your claim that you understood what Midler was saying.

And Midler's opinion isn't even supported by a majority of women as evidenced by the fact that particular opinion was last heard on a Yoko Ono album in the seventies.
Not exactly mainstream and of course Midler apologized for her over the top opinion.

She's richer than 99% of the men of this world. Her point is sheer rhetoric considering she's never felt the true whoa's of women or even close to what black women had to go through.

8,000 of her followers didn't like it. Are her own followers too stupid to understand this complex issue?

The thread title is misleadingly edited and doesn't reflect what the linked article said.

You make it sound like she actually used the racial epithet.

Her tweet literally contained "n-word" (and not the racial epithet starting with "n").

    Very misleading narrative.

What are you expecting from the networks?

    9/11 style coverage?

Obviously enough for her to take it down. But don't stop some of our residents here from trolling the intelligence of those they hate, as per usual;)

Pardon. Did I say she CALLED anyone the Nword? Nope. I said USED it which is 100% accurate. Plenty of people have used that word and have been eviscerated for it. Papa Johns founder didn't call anyone specifically the word. Rosanne didn't either. They were fired. Not that Bette has anything major going on right now, but it would be only fair that she loses all her credibility to work again like certain others. Correct?

I'd expect the same treatment as the Papa Johns founder, Rosanne, Kramer, ect.

What is racist about using a word?

The word N has a very powerful definition in history. There was a time in our history in which black folk were treated as less than even second class citizens.

Midler used the term not to demean, but to make a historical comparison.

Her use of the word was not as a slight to African Americans it was to highlight how both groups AA and Women have been treated...according to Midler.

She shouldn't have had to apologize. The meaning should have been clear.

Maybe they're annoyed because she also taught little Bretlette how to apologise. I don't think trumpkin's vocabulary really entertains apologies, maybe it's in the 'fake news' section of their revised dictionaries.

This was the EXACT wording of the link that you posted:

Bette Midler apologizes for controversial 'women, are the n-word of the world' tweet

    You thread title is misleading.

Midler did NOT tweet any word that rhymed with "bigger".

    She literally tweeted "n-word".

    Your thread title is misleading.
