Considering the rate of Biden's decline, can any leftist here adequately explain how Biden will survive the debates, much less the campaign for the general election which no amount of journalistic tongue-bathing will disguise? He's a wreck and the urinalists as I call them are now getting hard-pressed to cover it. By November 1, Biden will likely be unable to read even a simple sentence off a 3x5" card. Election 2020 is slam-dunk for Trump.

 

Only the Democrats can work hard on convincing everyone that Trump is mentally not there for 3-4 years and then front a man who is obviously in a much worse shape mentally.
At least Trump can face reporters and stand his ground. I’m getting the impression that Biden is not capable to be interviewed live even my a leftist journalist. Why would anyone want to vote for someone like that is beyond me. How is Biden better then Trump?

If so, you're doing a great impersonation of a Trump supporter. Take your criticism of Biden and apply the same standard to Trump.

For example, if you're worried that Biden can't get through an interview then compare that to Trump not being able to get through an interview without getting facts wrong or contradicting himself or doubling down on a lie.

 

The argument is in Trump's court, since tradition alone dictates that the candidates at least show up and pretend to exchange views, not market-tested platitudes. Biden's refusal would be seen as a sign of POLITICAL weakness all by itself. But add in the increasing drumbeat of public awareness of Biden's mental condition, and that same refusal to debate becomes admission Biden's unfit to win from bad health alone.

Now we're worried about tradition ? The counter argument is that Dirty Donnie has ignored so many traditions associated with his office that all bets are off.

Personally, I would be fine if with no debates. Of late, they have been debates in name only.

I would put some impossible condition on the debates , such as DD publishing his income tax returns for the past 10 years a week prior to the actual debate.

 

Trump is far enough ahead that he doesn't need the debates to finish Joe off.

But I wouldn't mind seeing Trump decisively make the case for another 8 years.

I don't think there's any question that both are cognitively waning. Biden, however, doesn't have trumps arrogance so to point to him. That said, I won't be voting for either buffoons. We can do a lot better than these two.
