Biden administration likely to provide US citizenship to over 500,000 Indians " The Biden administration will support family-based immigration and preserve family unification as a core principle of the US' immigration system. " https://www.cnbctv18.com/politics/b...itizenship-to-over-500000-indians-7428661.htm You have to read between the lines and realize what they mean by "family-based". An Indian from India comes in on a temporary work visa, is only supposed to stay in the country for 2 or 3 years. Now, because he has stayed in the country a couple of years, he can get citizenship. Not just him, but 5 of his family members too. (Indians typically have big extended families) Maybe some of you are not familiar with the concept of "chain migration". Once those family members have been in the country a couple of years, they will then be eligible to bring in their family members too. This will basically mean there are no really "temporary workers" anymore. Anyone who comes and stays for a little while can then stay indefinitely.
