And the dismantling of our constitutional democratic republic continues full speed right out of the gate with nothing seemingly able to stop it or even slow it down.

I know the Republicans (well, most of them) and Trump supporters are hoping and working on a 2022 and 2024 comeback. The question is would there even be anything salvageable left by that time.

    I don't see any problem..

They AREN'T going to "take anybody's guns".

    Thus, Big Deal.:bored:

commonsense gun law reforms, including requiring background checks on all gun sales, banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, and eliminating immunity for gun manufacturers who knowingly put weapons of war on our streets

    Totally.

Biden is going to take Everybody's Guns Away (and suspend the 2nd Amendment) and only Biden's stormtroopers will have guns.

    That what Biden's Initiative Means.
    No more guns.
Time for all gun owners to donate their life savings to the NRA and leave the country.

Must gun sales already require a background check. Actual assault weapons (not just those that look scary) are also banned. Hi-cap magazines are a red herring.

Do you believe everything Biden says? If you do, then you'd believe he's a racist. Biden is handing the left (and China) everything they want and they want guns to disappear.

The second amendment is to be able to own weapons of war. Assualt weapons means nothing. Common sense gun laws are a joke and are not common sense. Sounds like they are taking guns.

Then this doesn't even affect you. I own a handgun. It doesn't affect me either. I don't own a shotgun. I have no use for an assault rifle. I don't lock my doors or vehicles. Very, very safe neighborhood.

This law affects me not in the least. Posts are claiming gun confiscation, yet I still have my Walther. How can that be?

This is window dressing. Unless you just have to have an assault rifle, this law won't affect much of anyone. What it does is calm the fears of those who have lost loved ones to gun violence. Any serious gun owner, such as me, knows this, and isn't alarmed by it. Nobody is taking our guns.

    Serious question.

Why would background checks be performed by the fed and not the state??

Are there states out there that don't do background checks?

You mean the people freaking out in Washington that act as though 12 year olds are buying bazookas at the corner convenient store?

    Yes. Kind silly.

After obtaining my Firearm Identification Card after a 2 month wait, I took my Conceal Carry Class and have been waiting 4 months for the background check to be complete to get my CCL. Still don't have it.

6 months of hoops to jump through just to have my constitutional right to defend myself.

    Yes. Pretty silly.

Most legal gun purchases already require a background check via NICS.

The point of the Dems is not to do background checks. Rather the point is to establish a central database of firearm owners pursuant to some level of ban, confiscation, or tax. If I already purchased a gun that was approved by the NICS system why do you think I should have to undergo a 2nd background check?

My god. Life's a bitch. If you're gonna whine, don't begin with a reference to 12 year olds. Friendly advice.

Couple points here. Background checks for private sales is entirely unenforceable.

“Assault weapons” are already highly regulated. This proposal seeks to ban scary looking guns because these politicians have no ****ing idea what they are taking about.

And no manufacturer has “put weapons of war” on the streets. An AR 15 is not and has never been a weapon of war.

none of these proposals can withstand a constitutional challenge other than universal background checks. But as I pointed out, they are entirely unenforceable.

    NICS Services
The NICS provides full service to the FFLs in 30 states, five U.S. territories, and the District of Columbia. The NICS provides partial service to seven states. The remaining 13 states perform their own checks through the NICS.

I have no idea what you're talking about. It's only one background check.

All this law does is set a standard for the states, which are already doing background checks. It is not cause for hysteria.
