Biden dismissed the Uighur genocide as just part of China’s ‘different norms.’ Can you believe this guy? And the dominant liberal media just completely ignore it! Where is CNN on this? Where is NBC on this? Where is the Washington post on this? Where is the New York Times on this? Can you IMAGINE what the reaction would have been if Trump had said this? This just PERFECTLY illustrates the media bias that we all know exists! They are just the propaganda arm of the Biden Administration! SHAME ON THEM!

That doesn't properly explain it. Biden seemed to try to downplay it. What it IS, is a MORAL EVIL!

To be fair to him, he did call Xi Jinping a "thug" during the campaign, so he appears to be going softer on him now.

What did past Presidents say about these ongoing genocides and what did they do about it? I presume you created threads regarding those past genocides? Wasn't it Trump supporters who said that they wanted the US to stop being involved in other countries, you know, America first?

America first does not mean America alone.
I'm sure you can find populists that don't want to have open trade agreements that result in US workers competing with slaves.

Where are the self-styled Western "fighters against Islamophobia" ?!
Why are they silent on the mass-murder of innocent Moslem people?!

Surely Australia will put an end to it.

Biden was actually first to call it a genocide, and that was after it had been going on for 4 years with Trump doing nothing about it.

Even in the interview which you refer to he said this: “Well, there will be repercussions for China and [Xi] knows that. What I’m doing is, making clear that we, in fact, are going to continue to reassert our role as spokespersons for human rights at the UN and other agencies that have an impact on their attitude,”

So, it seems NYPost, being a biased outlet, is clinging to few words to misrepresent the context.

To you but you have different morality than others. They have the power and you don't, so your morals are trumped by reality. Get used to it. Life is kind of that way.

That's not how I read what he is actually quoted saying. He used that phrase but it wasn't in the simplistic context the headline is designed to manufacture. I'm always suspicious when offered partial quotes like this so would need to see or hear the full statements before reaching any definitive conclusion.

I don't believe that was said without a word to XI's hive that "I have to say this." Even so, for a CCP dictator that is high praise. Xi doesn't care. He is winning the big prize.

    Biden's word salad:

“If you know anything about Chinese history, it has always been, the time when China has been victimized by the outer world is when they haven’t been unified at home,” Biden began. “So the central — well, vastly overstated — the central principle of Xi Jinping is that there must be a united, tightly controlled China. And he uses his rationale for the things he does based on that.”

    My paraphrase:
China has always been a victim of white people, so to keep the population from learning about freedom and possibly wanting to fight to have it, the brutality of CCP rule is only just a Chinese "thing" used to keep control. You know. "The thing".

Pretty much. It's a statement of fact, not approval though. Understanding why people (or governments) do and say what they do is a vital step if you want to change their behaviour.

As an aside, it is a little racist for you to presume that only white people could be the ones threatening China throughout history. ;)

Not racist, but demonstrates how some people feel that white people are under some kind of unfair attack. Little insecure if you asked me, but fairly common these days. Japan has done more damage to China than any other country.

For example, they justify their blind eye of fentanyl smuggling on the "Opium wars" in the 1800's. Asians are all "internal" to China to some degree, whereas Caucasian's are external forces.

According to who, or what? Japanese are considered very much "external" to Chinese. Heck, the Japs killed 10 million Chinese and possibly up to a total of 20 million Chinese died.

You could view all of History as being mainly Chinese history with ancillaries and not be far wrong

Throughout the vast majority of History, most Chinese people really didn't even know there WERE white people

Biden at least acknowledges there IS a "Uighur Problem" and it's one of the internal affairs of a sovereign nation. Trump probably thinks Uighurs are some sort of Chinese food equivalent of pigs in a blanket

Joe has to walk carefully given how compromised he is to the Chinese. I mean, his income could be effected, his kid could lose a job, his campaign contributions could dry up.... CNN just minutes ago finally agreed that letting the two Cuomo commune on its airwaves wasn't the best look. LOL

In this century just previous, yes. China remembers this too.

Before that Japan was probably the ONLY nation China saw as even remotely comparable to itself in the whole of East Asia. One or another of its Rulers referred to Japan as the Empire of the "Rising Sun" vs the "Setting Sun" and Japan adopted the title proudly

If you want to see surviving examples of Tang Chinese architecture you have to go to Japan, most all Japanese historical buildings follow the Style entirely, turbulent Chinese history left few in the Middle Kingdom

You'll hear a lot made of the similarities between Chinese/Japanese history and France/ England but that is really superficial, it's a good deal more correct to view Japan as Great Britain and China as the whole of Europe.

Don't forget the forced sterilizations. It's going to get to the point at which we have to employ the Russian disinformation agent test: Please say something negative about Putin, no matter how mild.

Joe, we need you to make a negative statement toward the CCP. Are you capable of finding something?

Because they only care about Muslims in the West. Just like they only care about women and gays in the West.
