Except I am calling for a tax that very few “poor” have even heard of, much less pay. So sure, however you want to contort that...

I couldn't find it but there was a video that I saw where they asked a bunch of rich people, who were clamoring about raising taxes, why they didn't voluntarily pay more. They all said that they weren't going to pay more until they had to by law.

All high and mighty as long as they aren't asked to put their money where their mouth is.

Add 13.3% state, City tax, property tax, 2 gas taxes, sales tax (about 10%) and taxes categorized as "fees".

Contort? You clearly laid out your willingness to pay more and to what guidelines must be met.. I'm not faulting you, I'm merely pointing out you and they are one in the same, "You all like yer money"..
Remember this, it reminds me of the wealthy and your stipulation..

Actually it is much worse. The rich have the highest tax rates of all Americans. If you don't like the tax laws like I don't you could lobby for a change. I would support anything that reduces taxes AND SPENDING.

And that's how it should be! It's really simple , you don't give to the gubmint via TAX because they will just piss it away! You want to make a difference then you take LESS and give ALL THAT YOU CAN to those or charity you find suitable.. And you don't give two turds what the others do with their money and most of all don't use them as a scapegoat for not following your heart and ideology :)

Honest question: what's a "city tax" and how does it differ from sales tax? I can't find anything online refering to a "city tax" as anything other than sales tax.

I agree with you. If I were going to tax the uber wealthy, I would make drastic changes to the cap gains taxes. I'd separate cap gains into two. Put a low tax on investment income of less than $500k of like 15% to encourage investments and then a higher rate of 35% on everything else. I would also change how income is classified for the Elon Musks who makes $0 a year and let's his company pay for all his toys.

In Los Angeles, self employed pay a city tax on top of state and federal. They even give you a pretty certificate to display.

Immigration has always increased during prosperous times. What’s your point?

1000 times this. The rich don’t “earn” money the way everyone else does. That so many people do not understand this (and it is how congress gets rich) is why it will likely never be changed.

Take a look below. Republicans spend money at a faster rate than Democrats, cut the growth in government personal tax revenue, and as a result run higher deficits.

Trump was especially irresponsible by cutting taxes on a hot economy.

Feel free to exhibit your... remarks... I care very little. As to your claim that the “chiners” caused this and not inept leadership, that is just not based in reality. They might have started the fire but y’all poured the accelerant on it.

Credit is given where is it due. No matter how much y’all try to hide from it.

Immigration is fine. Illegal immigration is, well, illegal, and anyone who is sworn to uphold the Constitution and laws of this nation should be removed from office if they choose to ignore those laws. If they want the laws changed, then do so. Until then, the law is the law.

Immigration (both illegal and legal) absolutely need to be addressed. We need systems in place that will live past a 4 or 8 year term. A partially built wall will not do anything. Neither would a fully built one with no enforcement.

We have real time aerial surveillance and sensors available to us. We need to use a combination of them along with aid to Mexico to stop this. Also repeal birthright citizenship when neither parent is a US citizen.

We need to keep track of VISA recipients. 50% of illegal immigration starts with an overstayed VISA

i don't agree. I'm fine with the birthright citizenship rule. I also agree with the law that only allows a citizen (child) to sponsor immigration after the child turns 18.

We could never match the aid to Mexico that money from illegal Mexican workers sent back to their families! My girlfriend works at a money center here in town and the amount being wired weekly/monthly from this one store alone would blow your mind!!!

Have Republicans controlled Congress and the White House since Regan?

    Tax it.
    Any funds leaving the US

And fine the employers so much that it becomes unprofitable for them to hire these people.

We have the ability to end this, neither party wants to
