"On the timing of the administration's efforts to help pull this deal together, you said that it was within, I think, the last few weeks," Shear began. "We wrote our first story at the New York Times about a possible partnership between Merck and J&J for manufacturing on Jan 21."

"My understanding is that talks between those companies had been in the works before that even, in terms of, sort of, the corporate discussions between them," Shear continued, adding, "How it is that the Biden administration deserves credit for bringing these two together, when it looks like the discussions had been under way long before you guys got here?"

In response, Psaki said the Biden administration is merely celebrating the finalization of the deal.

"Just to be clear, I'm talking about when it was finalized so that we could move it forward," Psaki said.

"I'm only conveying what got it across the finish line, and I think it's clear that that has only happened relatively recently. But certainly the history of conversations between Merck and J&J, long before the J&J vaccine was even approved, you know, you certainly might have more information on than I do," she added.

    =======================================

The New York Times actually reported on this deal back in January. Biden's team keeps trying to take credit for what Trump's team accomplished. Instead of just being thankful for Operation Warp Speed and the other acts the Trump Administration accomplished, the Biden team is talking poorly of it and at the same time, trying to take credit!

It's refreshing to see a press secretary walk back a comment rather than plow ahead with the lie. I'd certainly prefer they not lie in the first place, but I'll take what I can get. Also, it's nice to know we won't later see some visual aid marked up with Sharpie to try to coddle someone's ego.

I'm guessing the OP is missing some key information... Somebody needs to show me where the Biden administration or Psaki is taking exclusive credit for the deal?? It's certainly not in the OP...

I read this as well handled by Psaki... I think that's what's confusing to the T****ista's....

Where is the Biden Administration giving Trump and Operation Warp Speed credit? Instead they pushed the "starting from scratch" lie that Biden, Harris, Psaki, etc. all spewed the the nation.

Psaki is terrible at her job. It's really fun to watch her face plant so often. She looks like a deer caught in the headlights so often it's comical.

I'm going to refer you to post #2 in this thread where one of your own called it refreshing to see big red walk back a lie.

basically, if biden didn't win, the companies wouldn't have released the vaccine. only after Trump was beat did they get the green light from the shadow cabal to begin releasing the vaccine.

If trump won, they would have held on to it for as long as possible.

They tried to take credit. You do remember the repeatedly Leftist talking point lie.... "STARTED FROM SCRATCH"?

The Biden Administration lied over and over again... and they just got caught again.

Yes... on distribution, not on vaccine creation....

And feel free to provide a quote... that's what's supposed to happen if you want to call something a lie...

For instance - “There is no longer a Nuclear Threat from North Korea.”

    See... with quotes and everything...

You guys are funny to watch handle competent government... sort of makes me wish I had been on here 2009-2016....

The vaccine was being distributed in December. By the time Biden was inaugurated around 14 million people had been vaccinated. You don't get to 14 million people vaccinated without a plan of distribution.

If Biden didn't win, the shadow cabal would not have let the vaccine be released to hurt Trump and Americans.

The Biden administration is a joke! And the polls are starting to reflect that. He and the Dems controlling congress have done nothing for the American people! Well, nothing good that is. Destroyed jobs for one, in case someone is asking.

We had a 7 day average of 1 million doses per day on Jan 21 when Biden said that he was going to provide 100 Million doses in 100 days. Big talk with little math. That's like saying I'm going to make sure we have 12 donuts in every dozen sold.

    Fully vaccinated? Didn't think so....

    SNIP
Moncef Slaoui, who had been leading the government's vaccine rollout plan, said at the time: "We know that it should be better, and we're working hard to make it better."

Still haven't seen anybody point out a Biden administration lie on this topic, so I'm moving on....

According to accounts from within Trump's own administration and governors dealing with the federal distribution system, the plan was effectively ad hoc and all in the heads of a few people (as opposed to being planned, documented, and tracked). This led to problems like officials in the admin claiming to have doses available, and then it being discovered that they had far fewer than claimed. That's why the Biden admin had to "start from scratch" when they got in: there was no knowledge transfer from whoever knew what was going on and there wasn't any documentation to follow and expand on. Not sure if you recall, but Trump refused to allow members of his admin to work with Biden's transition team. So that didn't help.

Incidentally, we're now at 52 million vaccinated. So in about the same amount of time that Trump's admin got 14 million folks vaccinated, Biden's admin has achieved more than double that. I'm not so naive as to think that some of that isn't due to momentum from work by the Trump admin. However, as poorly as everything else went with Trump and Covid, I wouldn't be surprised if Biden's team has achieved that rate increase despite the effort that preceeded them. Also, in contrast to Trump's insane claims about how quickly he would start vaccinations and get them fully distributed, only to have to adjust those dates later and later, Biden's admin gave us a realistic expectation of full adult vaccination by the end of the summer, and he's been able to announce that timeline accelerating to June and now May.

There have already been 78 million doses administered, and over 100 million distributed. That 100 million doses administered mark is going to be hit before day 60.

Good thing Sasquatch and Nessie gave them the go-ahead, otherwise all of those vaccines would have been kept at Area 51 under Elvis's lock and key!

What, specifically, as his plan for the vaccine rollout that he claimed was unnecessary? Hopefully better than his "plan" for testing that he claimed was too successful.

    It am what it am.

And I know it's nitpicky, but when is that woman going to do something about that clown-hair? Hard to believe that a grown, adult woman, who expects to be taken seriously dyes her hair a color like that.....
