Yeah. You really have to wonder what the people who write that stuff think of their audience. They clearly think they can write the most mind numbingly (and obviously) stupid things without fear that their readers will notice or care.

You misunderstand. The system from Canada was not oil for US consumption but for export. The US is an exporter of oil overall but imports certain grades more consumed in the US.

I don't care where it was coming or going to an oil pipeline is the safest and most efficient way to transport it.

if we have a shortage of oil, ban exports, simple

the reality is we do not have a shortage of oil, we have a shortage of cheap oil

American oil costs more, just the reality of it, only more cheaper oil forces American Oil to lower its price

'communistic' socialistic' etc, are meaningless terms, most countries have various proportions of these.

Nothing is absolute, but in a totalitarian communist country, usually the only way to leave the country is by 1. marriage to a foreigner, which has to be approved, 2. as a diplomat or agent of the government or as a famous person, artist, sports figure, etc..

For me, that is the test.

Cuba is totalitarian. China is authoritarian.

Democrats resent the right's characterization of social programs as 'communist/communistic'. (socialistic, we can live with that one).

That's just a propaganda technique to manipulate the electorate into believing Democrats want a totalitarian regime, which they most certainly don't. And, if you deny it, I'll call you a liar.

In our view, God help us if helping the poor equals totalitarianism.

It doesn't, and y'all need to knock it off with this crap.

China being a 'state capitalism' or 'socialist market economy' is the conventional wisdom on this point.

    LET THEM EAT ESG.jpg

All c/o the self-styled "Guardians of Democracy", no less.

Yet, from the city-states of Ancient Greece to the communes of Medieval Europe to the cities, villages and farms of 18th Century America, democracy was made possible by a vibrant Middle Class that had the means and power to assert the rights and sovereignty of the individual.

Throughout history, the power-hungry tyrants who sought to destroy the power, rights and prosperity of the Middle Class have been the enemies of democracy, not its friends and guardians.

As it was then, so it is today....

yeah, it stinks how democrats don't see threw their politicians lies. the fact, that Democrat Politicians have spent so much time and money to put in legistlation the epa, and several other restrictions in America to make things cleaner here gas wise, and yet, they out source it constantly, for whatever stupid reasons they make.

If they really cared about things like equality, and global warming, then why do they keep going to other countries for answer, for so many things, when it comes to American problems?

Perhaps, they're selling Americans, out, whilst lining their own pockets?
Perhaps, they don't really honestly care about global warming?
Perhaps they don't really care about equality, because they love making deals with countries that oppress women, and gays, and minorities?

I see no difference between state capitalism and communism.
You're just eyeballing way to much how the government is run to distinguish between totalitarian and authoritarian. While it's both clearly communistic in idea and practice. You simply can't run a business with strict governmental control. That's communism.

Exactly! Look at their lack of support for protests against their favorite regimes in Iran and China.
