President Biden warned military servicemembers Wednesday that top Pentagon officials consider climate change to be the "greatest threat" to America’s national security in the coming years.

"When I went over to the tank in the Pentagon when I was first was elected vice president with President Obama, the military sat us down and let us know what the greatest threats facing America were, the greatest physical threats," he said. "This is not a joke. You know what the Joint Chiefs told us the greatest physical threat facing America was? Global warming.

"There will be significant population movements, fights over land, millions of people leaving places because they’re literally sinking below the sea in Indonesia, because of the fights over what is arable land anymore," he added.

Biden has suggested that climate change poses a threat to U.S. military security on multiple occasions. In February, he noted that he had directed the Pentagon to reimagine the country’s strategy for dealing with the impact of climate change.

But but sleepy Joe just recently told us, the greatest threat to US military is a white supremacy in its ranks? So the white supremacy in the US military has been dealt with and is defeated already?

Seriously... how should the US military deal with climate change and global warming? An electric tank I can see, perhaps each soldier carrying solar panel built into his backpack... what else?

So, sleepy Joe says "There will be significant population movements, fights over land, millions of people leaving places because they’re literally sinking below the sea in Indonesia, because of the fights over what is arable land anymore," Biden added.

What kind of military threat is this? Democrats will just let all those people into United States and military will stay out of this just like they should. Right? No threat to US military there.

The biggest threat to the US military the Harris Biden Administration :buggered:

I'm sure the US Army is ready to defeat our greatest enemy, climate change, at any time Commander in Chief Biden gives them the go ahead.

:roll::roll: The DOD has had climate change listed as a national threat for AT LEAST 15 years

I’m going to go out on a limb and suggest that maybe Biden’s son got a job with a global warming company and is about to cash in on it. If that’s not the case then Biden is just an idiot.

Any idea of the carbon footprint of the international trips Harris and Biden are taking? Or Biden’s four mansions?

He's not wrong, although it will be in the long term. In the short term there are probably greater threats right now, like ransomware, food prices, domestic extremism, and political fanaticism(on both sides).

They should be prepared for wars to be fought over resources like water instead of oil.

    This is the correct post.

We need to move past talking about who or what is the cause and deal with the changes that are coming. We cannot do anything to stop it

It’s all a political agenda, a farce. Remember when NASA’s mission to make Muslims feel good?

Anyway, how many years of life do we have this time?

And with sleepy senile Joe in the White House, electric tank - here it comes!

Our army must become environmentally friendly, it’s the number one military objective!

No, it really is not a farce. The climate really is changing, there will be consequences of those changes. Politics cannot change that.

Over the last 40 years or so entire ecosystems have moved north hundreds of miles. This is not a farce, this is a fact.

We need to move past the stupid politics of who is to cause and how to stop it and just deal with the coming changes so we can be prepared. Farmers in our area have been preparing for the last decade as they see and feel the changes first hand. Luckily for us they do not ignore what hey see with their own eyes because their party told them to

The army’s purpose is to kill people and to break things.

Lemmi repeat - the army’s purpose is to kill people and to break things.

Why the **** should army be environmentally friendly and be preparing for climate change?

Ask the Pentagon, they are the ones that have been making plans for this for the last 20 years or so.

One way to weather this is to follow the money these radicals pilfer and squander (your tax dollars) with money you can position and profit from (investing). To progressives, global warming is 99% about wealth redistribution and then 1% about the principle argument. Their 'solutions' will always, ALWAYS, be about diverting tax dollars to places where donors and cronies can benefit. Learn how to follow the Congressional hearings schedule, track the names and the companies to see what they are and what they buy, and of course check the securities disclosures of Congress itself (even though it will be 45 days behind it still useful).

    From the DOD...

Among the future trends that will impact our national security is climate change. Rising global temperatures, changing precipitation patterns, climbing sea levels, and more extreme weather events will intensify the challenges of global instability, hunger, poverty, and conflict. They will likely lead to food and water shortages, pandemic disease, disputes over refugees and resources, and destruction by natural disasters in regions across the globe. In our defense strategy, we refer to climate change as a “threat multiplier” because it has the potential to exacerbate many of the challenges we are dealing with today – from infectious disease to terrorism. We are already beginning to see some of these impacts. A changing climate will have real impacts on our military and the way it executes its missions. The military could be called upon more often to support civil authorities, and provide humanitarian assistance and disaster relief in the face of more frequent and more intense natural disasters. Our coastal installations are vulnerable to rising sea levels and increased flooding, while droughts, wildfires, and more extreme temperatures could threaten many of our training activities. Our supply chains could be impacted, and we will need to ensure our critical equipment works under more extreme weather conditions. Weather has always affected military operations, and as the climate changes, the way we execute operations may be altered or constrained.

    No indeed

Want to point out the memo from the DOD that has that as a stated goal?
