He should have united the country to make a unified effort instead divided the country.
Told people to get rid of Governors, who took the pandemic serious. He threatened to punish States if the Governors were not nice to him.
He held rallies completely disregarding his own Task Force's and CDC recommendations, disregarding State laws, City laws, County laws.

He should have set an example, by respecting his Task Force's and CDC recommendations.

He told Woodward, on tape, in late January of 2020, that he knew how dangerous the virus is.
He should have acted, PPE, ventilators and ICU's.
He should have gotten the country ready.
He down played it and played golf.

Total failure.
350,000 dead and not one word of consolidation.

No, not really. All the articles said the Secret Service made him do it, and the WH bunker is probably more luxurious than most homes.

 

Unifying the country, bring al the Governors behind you, develop a Nation wide strategy, to which all Governors agree and than make a unified effort.

If you want to know how that is done, look at Germany, same Republic structure. The leader of that country had to bring in Governors of 4 different Parties from 17 States. Not just once, several times, every time the situation changed dramatically.
Weeks of negotiations, every State has different needs, every party has different goals, opinions.
That means hard work for the leader of the Nation, serious overtime, 36 hours or more non stop, to get everybody under the roof.
The German Government, can not dictate, it has to work with the States, like the US Government. It is a Republic, like the US. But it has not the Sharpie solution, the decreed, the Kanzler does not have that power. More a Republic than the US.

No, he'll be giving them money and support. This is something I've wondered about why we haven't done for most of my life. Maybe if we spent trillions on medical research instead of airplanes that don't work to hunt hill bandits in pickups we'd STILL not be able to cure all these diseases that have killed most of my friends over the years, but at least laboratories are a lot quieter than little kids screaming because their legs are gone.
