I'm not a fan of memorials, in general. Just the way I don't feel that a mass event makes people more deserving of a prize.

If my house burns down; there will be no handout from government. If my entire neighborhood burns down, suddenly it's a thing deserving of handouts.

Same with the families of 911 victims. They deserved no prize. We owed an obligation to the first responders; nothing more.
