Good point, I assumed that the DP was not actually trying to lose.

But then the RP has repeatedly hired Steve Schmidt and Mike Murphy so it is possible that both parties like to shoot at their own feet. ;-)

“Few genres are more media marketable than the car crash. It explains, in large part, the left’s ongoing fascination with Palin. In his public agony, Schmidt deftly cut himself into the Palin buffet line. Left-leaning operators from the Hollywood and Washington—New York media fell deeply for him. It was another instance of the media swooning over Republicans with self-flagellating tendencies, especially when they defy conservative orthodoxy and move left. (McCain being the object lesson in this with his maverick campaign of 2000, when he was that “refreshingly candid” McCain, as opposed to when he later moved right in 2008 and became the “bitter” McCain).” Mark Leibovich, This Town, Penguin Books, 2013, p. 290.

Which he has been doing for about the last two months. The individual governors are in charge of their own states giving them the flezability to close counties on a selected basis.
As for Trump commenting, you don't listen to anything he says anyway so keep doing the same thing you have been doing.

No, he really hasn't. And, yes, I've payed attention to what he's said, including his early lies about testing being available to anyone who wants it and his more recent lies about the upward trend being simply due to more testing and his other more recent lies about us having the lowest COVID death rate in the world.

Trump, frankly, has resisted aggressive testing measures from the beginning. He certainly hasn't lead there in any way. Most of the time when he talks about testing it is to complain about it and try to politicize it.

Other countries got a better handle on this, managed to keep cases down, and managed to start reopening businesses earlier. You should ask yourself why.

You should also ask yourself why you think that it is good enough that, even in your own estimation, Trump only got serious about this over the past two months. You'll (hopefully) recall that the pandemic started before then.

And Trump supporters need to learn to start addressing facts instead of just screeching "Fake News" or some fake response about Democrats before running away to hide.

    1) Where are the documents claiming he was a foreign exchange student?
    2) All college records are "sealed" by default. Trump has actually gone much, much further to ensure that his academic records are sealed, not just from college but from high school as well.
    3) You people seriously still fall for this birther ****? Even Trump is too embarrassed to do that anymore. That's why he lied and said he was the one who put an end to all of this.

I've presented you with facts. None of which you are willing to address. Trump's blind followers need to stop confusing Trump worship with facts.

Trump's opposition is very fact challenged.
That is a common side effect of MSM Fake News addiction.

The still thinking Left keeps warning them, but do they listen? ;-)

"Flynn's testimony: Last Friday, ABC News reported that former national security advisor Michael Flynn was prepared to testify that President Trump, while still a candidate, directed him to contact Russian officials. But later in the day, the network issued a "clarification" that the direction came when Trump was president-elect. That changed the impact of the story entirely as it's a common occurrence for presidential transition teams to reach out to foreign governments."

You are right. But remember this -- the U.S. Constitution states to become POTUS you must be born in the USA. That makes a birth certificate important in that sense. You don't have to show your tax returns to become POTUS. Just saying to clear up the point.

It says you have to be a natural born citizen. This means anyone who is a citizen by birth, as opposed to by naturalization, not necessarily born in the US. Ted Cruz and John McCain were born outside the US. They still qualified. They were both citizens by birth.

Regardless, there was never any serious question about where Obama was born, only tinfoil lunacy.

Listening to the Scientists & Doctors he surrounded himself would be a good start. You find it a coincidence that the 2 worst Nations in handling this pandemic are ran by Presidents that are ultra right wing and anti-science? Us and Brazil.

Your first self inflicted wound is the fact you listen to Trump in the first place. I doubt if you have posted one positive word about him since he took office.
I don't think Trump got serious about this at all.
About two months ago Trump gave the governors of each state the responsibility to handle how and when they were to reopen. If I weere you I would start litening to your governor and follow his/her advice.
Your third option is to lock yourself down until you feel it is safe to come out.

Lol, first you say that I don't listen to Trump. Then, when it turns out I have listened to Trump, you say it is a somehow a mistake to listen to what Trump says.

    You would be incorrect.

Thank you for agreeing to exactly the point I was making.

Trump pressured them to reopen and failed to do almost anything to help, all while constantly lying to the public about the virus and whining.

My governor has been almost as incompetent as Trump has been.

We could get to a safer place faster if we just had competent leadership and/or a public generally willing to listen to the advice of health experts over political idiots.

I'll at least be staying inside for the next two weeks or so because right now it is not safe for me, personally, to do otherwise.

They can't comprehend the fact that transcripts are private. No one has to "seal" them. They are "sealed" by default. Obama's records are "sealed" in exactly the same manner as Trump's records have been "sealed," with the exception that Trump has gone out of his way to threaten criminal prosecution against anyone who would leak his college or high school records and Obama hasn't. Sounds like Trump has more to hide. Guess he must be a foreign exchange student

How can this embarrass Trump even more than he does it to himself on a Daily basis ?

Why does Trump need to hide his tax returns if there is nothing ominous there? He chastised Obama relentlessly for not releasing his birth certificate. It's time to call a spade a spade and demand transparency.

The so-called president of "law and order" is not above the law even though he may think he is.

You think I believe. I'm neither desperate nor particularly a subscriber to that theory. I do however want it definitively cleared up, which it is not after Obama's half brother said a year or so ago that Hussein was in fact born in Kenya.
