During the main panel discussion, Maher brought up Wednesday's London terror attack in which a 52 year old Muslim convert - who had been previously investigated by British Intel - mowed down pedestrians and stabbed a policeman outside of London's Parliament. Louise Mensch, a rabidly anti-Trump Russophobic neocon who is suggests Putin is responsible for Islamic terrorism in the EU, and that the Kremlin is behind the Anthony Weiner sexting scandal (among other things) - told Maher that the London attack has "nothing to do with Islam." A shocked Maher challenged her, saying "Every time some bomb goes off, before it goes off, somebody yells 'Allahu Akbar.' I never hear anybody go 'Merry Christmas, this one's for the flying nun!' "Are there Christian terrorist armies like Isis, Al Qaeda, Boko Haram, Al Shabab - are there armies like that in the world that are not Muslim? Let's not **** around. Can we please get real?" In Maher's Overtime segment which did not air on HBO but was made available online, Maher once again goes toe to toe with Mensch and Chris Hayes - asking the question: If a European country sometime in the future became 51% Muslim, would it be the same country? Would it have the same values, the same laws? Would the laws change? Mensch backpedals to the fact that homogeneity and fear over different cultures is the issue, to which Maher replies: But, I'm talking about our fundamental principles like equality of women, separation of religion and state, respect for minorities, rule of law, as opposed to religious rule. Mensch had nothing... Later, when MSNBC's Chris Hayes tried to needle guest Matt Schlapp over Islam in Indonesia - Maher jumps in and shuts his fellow liberal down - talking about how women wanting to enter the police of military have to submit to the "two finger" test to prove they are virgins. I have always given Maher credit for his common sense on this issue, especially since he has to cross the majority of his Islam loving audience in the process.

Liberals will avoid this like they have avoided every other time Maher has attempted to crack through the belligerent Leftist echo chamber by using an undeniable sledge hammer of truth. The rampant plague of Middle Eastern Islam has been a cancer on this planet for nearly 1500 straight years, without fail. Yet each and every time a Leftist dares to speak about it, seeing as how 99% of the time they just ignore the reality that is ME Islam, its only ever to inject in "blah blah blah ZE CHRISTIANS!". Maher gave a proper bitch slap here to the bigoted hateful anti-Christian Left. I wish he had only done it during his actual time slot and not in some web-only after show that most people wont ever see.
I think his monologues are terrible, and I disagree with him on a great many things, but we see eye to eye on Islam, pot, and political correctness.
On this issue Maher, of course, is correct. Muslims should be confined to Muslim countries where they seem perfectly content killing each other along with other atrocities. Ask yourself, why would a Muslim move to a country where they hate everything about it?
All "Liberals" aren't the same. Just like all "White people" aren't the same. Simplistic overgeneralization isn't the best way to advance one's ideas.

Generalizations are necessary if we are to make sense of the world. It's important to know what is *usually* true in a given scenario. If you want to add the disclaimer that the usual condition is not the case in every situation, feel free to do so.

Re the bolded, yes, there are. (I recall screaming this at the TV loud enough I was sure they could hear me) There's the Lord's Resistance Army in Africa and there was the IRA, who were once the major theorists and trainers of most terrorist groups in the world though they are now defunct. I also believe that a good part of the Kosovo/Serbia disturbances were due to Christian militias fighting Muslim militias. (Michael O'Donohughe once noted how the religious conflict there was really nominal, though just as deadly - "The Christians don't go to Church and the Muslims don't go to Mosque" but they still kill each other over the difference) I find Maher's stand on Islam distressing. It can't be the "only good Muslim is a dead Muslim" hatred of the average Islamophobe since he has had Muslim guests, but it's not at all clear specifically how he differs from that.
It's hard to imagine anyone looking to the likes of Maher for political discourse. Who's next? Colbert? Letterman? For God's Sake, these are entertainers (and I use that word loosely) who don't even write their own material.

I usually think Bill Maher is an idiot. But he seems to be wide awake in this clip. I have been saying, there IS a definition for Liberal apart from Party affiliation -- and he defined it. They are not bozos like Afleck - who is not liberal, he's just ignorant and childish. When you can see a place where Maher and Steele can actually come together with a meeting of the minds - that's the sweet spot.
Really? What do find "distressing"? That Maher gets this issue and isn't going to put up with the bullshit that calls criticism of Muslim fundamentalism "Islamophobic"? You might have a case of Ben Affleck's syndrome. Maher simply, like most of us, object to the strain of fundamentalism in Islam that seeks to make all other religions (and secularists) subservient to their medieval view of the world under a global caliphate. If you are a Muslim and subscribe to that view we have a problem. If you do not, then we have none.
