Weld has as much chance as Hillary.

The only thing going for him will be the free PR provided by the left's MSM ministries. That will likely allow him to fill some banks with cash he can take down the road with him.

Who needs a best selling book when you can run for President using free publicity?

Hillary didn't run against Trump in GOP primary.

Weld is conservative, and Trump is not, so the race will reveal if the Republican voters are conservative, or not.

Weld is whatever he feels like at the moment. He has no foundation and all indications are few people know or care about him.

One thing in his favor is the automatic free publicity he will get from every news outlet obsessed with destroying the President.

Beyond that, he has zero chance of beating out the President.

Why would he get all the publicity when there are 25 people running?

As for "no foundation", that is the trademark of Donald Trump.

Why would Conservatives support a loser and not an incumbent winner?

I would think anyone who would attempt to run against the President is going to get massive free coverage from all the liberal aligned news sources obsessed with destroying the President.

Not many take Weld seriously. It’s not a good indication of how conservative the party is.

Many Republicans have been waiting since Reagan for someone to have a backbone and stand up to the liberal establishment. Trump does that, albeit crudely. That’s endeared him to many.

To get spending under control and balance the budget. Those things used to mean something, and still do to conservatives. Mainstream Republicans don't seem to care too much.

Like I said, they will have to split that time with 25 others.

Yes, presidential elections typically get lot of coverage. As a matter of fact, the election year is almost unbearable with all the coverage.

Its your vote. Vote for Trump is you want see the debt continue to skyrocket. That is the opposite of conservative, but your post shows your priority is the partisan fireworks, and not so much about actual policies. The liberal establishment you refer to has been the GOP Congress vast majority of time since Reagan. People like you voted them in, and then you hope for someone to stand up against them. Go figure.

You think 25 others will be running on the Republican ticket against the President?

The left's MSM partners are purveyors of the flavor of the month. Beto has begun to sour and now it's Buttigieg.

Sanders and Biden share the rest of the spotlight. The rest of the Dem candidates are lost in the fog.

A "Republican" running against the President will get massive coverage. Look what Weld is getting.

There has not been a GOP Congress the vast majority of time since Reagan.

    https://www.infoplease.com/history-...omposition-congress-political-party-1855-2017

President Trump signed the last major spending bill under protest over all the spending the left threw in. At the time he needed the military spending. He claimed he would never sign a bill like that again.

Recently, Nancy tabled budget discussions in the House due to the massive spending they wanted to include.

    https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...dget-cap-bill-amid-house-democratic-divisions

Liberals demanded $33 billion more for domestic social programs in 2020 as the price of their support, while some moderates opposed the bill over its lack of spending cuts in mandatory entitlement programs to offset the impact on the deficit. Republicans slammed the House majority for failing to produce a budget so far this year.

Lets not pretend presidential elections don't sell news. They always have, and always will, and this time wont be any different. Everyone will be fed up with it by the time its over. You are just being overly defensive about "the president" thinking the media covers election just because he is in the WH.

Yes, there has, and there has also been long periods of time when GOP controlled all branches.

Every president complains about what the other party throws in, but a president who wants to balance the budget would not sign budgets which guarantee trillion dollar deficits.

No, I don't think I'm being defensive. I think I'm being very objective.

It seems rather obvious the left's media partners despise the President and will do everything in their power to try and keep him from being reelected. That means anyone who attempts to run against him on the Republican ticker will get major news time completely out of balance to their chances of actually winning the nomination.

I provided a link to the party majorities in both chambers going back through the Reagan administration and before.

    You should review it.

Very defensive. You are defending him even before the coverage begins.

    See what I mean.

    Again......

I did. GOP didn't just control the House aka "the purse strings" most of the time, but VAST majority of time. There were also long periods when they controlled everything, - the House, Senate and the White House, like Bush presidency, and that is when things got really bad. Its never good to have one party (either one) in full control. And lets not forget that when Trump was elected, BOTH chambers of Congress were controlled by GOP, so what was that "liberal establishment" he was elected to stand up against? It took him two years to lose the House.

I haven't defended the President at all.

I have mentioned how the left's media partners are obsessed with destroying him, and as a result will give massive coverage to anyone who run's against him on the same party ticket.

You should look a little closer to home for who is having the Trump obsession.
