It's interesting that NBC is being alarmist about anchor babies when they are Russian or Chinese, but not when they're Hispanic. In another editorial, NBC estimates that 40,000 are born to birth tourists every year. Pew Research says that in 2014, about 275,000 were born to unauthorized aliens. That's one year alone. All those little babies want a piece of your Universal Healthcare.

I don't care where they're from, no more of this. No more citizenship via birth, unless your parents are legal citizens.

But it's law. Although there exists contemporary documents that provide evidence that the 14th was meant to protect newly freed slaves (and I personally believe it protected the French in Louisiana and the Mexicans in Texas as well), the democrats have consistently interpreted the 14th to mean anyone has the right to citizenship if they are born here. Now, more than 100 years later, there is historical precedent that probably won't be overturned by the Supreme Court. In order to amend the 14th, it must be passed in both houses of congress, and in two thirds of the state legislatures.

This is the only evident platform of the Democrats - a tidal wave of humans to obliterate borders, language and culture.

The dilution of American citizenship continues.

The globalist attack on the nation state concept is in high gear.

Why are you promoting a story that is nearly a year old, claiming (falsely) that NBC is being "alarmist".

This is a news story not and editorial.

And the United States does not have Universal Healthcare.

So, what is your point? You are promoting a year old story, making false insinuations about it, and claiming that people are flocking to the US so their kids can get a benefit that is not offered to anyone in the United States.

I wouldn't support Democrats then. They love this. On one hand they will say they are against this while on the other hand come here and make threads celebrating the demise of the white majority in America.

There have been court cases on birthright citizenship in the states' courts prior to signing the Constitution.

birthright citizenship precedent was set way before there was a Democrat party.

Stop blaming Dems for things that piss you off.

Because this is whats in the news and being hotly debated today? It is interesting why instead of engaging into discussing, you're trying to quash it?

    Liberals... :confusion:

Democrats don’t give a ****. It’s better we lose everything so that the entire planet can claim US citizenship and destroy everything we’ve built. Funny. How many Russian, Chinese or Mexicans fly into Norway or Switzerland to give birth?

yet one more reason why it's imperative to have originalists on the Supreme Court
instead of agenda-laden commies who wish to weaken and destroy a country they despise.

there is no possible way the authors of 14A intended for the spawn of criminal invaders and temporary visitors to be granted birthright citizenship.

BS. This is recycling an old story to pump a right wing meme. I'm sure this story was dug up and reposted by some right wing trash blog flogging the Trumpster race baiting. The OP just tried to hide where it really came from by citing only the imbedded source and hoping that no one would notice that the story is a year old.

This is stunt that I've seen right wingers play on this forum many times before. This scam isn't new.

That's what the "no nothings" were saying in 1854.

Back then, the people who were responsible for "the dilution of American citizenship" were your ancestors.

You would almost certainly be wrong.

And no matter how loud Trump bellows, or how hard Trumpsters try and pretend to defend it, Trump cannot rewrite the Constitution by decree.

The story is right on, and is not a recycling of an old story. Dunno if you're fluent in Russian language or not, but I am - and here's the 3 day old story from the official Russian news site TASS. The russkies are watching Trump with interest, and are amazed that he's keeping his campaign promise and is dealing with birth tourism. Use Google translator, if you are curious (which you're, most likely, not)

    http://tass.ru/mezhdunarodnaya-panorama/4003687

How crazy - 7.5% of all births in U.S. are to illegal immigrants, over 300,000 babies per year. This must stop. Unaffordable and not right!

Trump most certainly may sign an EO ending birthright citizenship, which will no doubt incite angry lower court commie judges to immediately issue injunctions, which will ultimately find their way to the Supreme Court....which, you know, isn't leaning commie activist anymore, nor will it be for decades to come.

The same court that just allowed young people to sue the present government for it's lack of action on Global Warming policies.

The Supreme Court has no authority to deny people or groups the inherent right to litigate. An individual or group may be ruled a vexatious litigant and their lawsuits rejected out-of-hand, but other than that, people may file lawsuits over any perceived injustice, even frivolous ones (until such time they are deemed a vexatious litigant)

Do you think Norway or Switzerland would allow it?
Where are all the people who hold up Norway as the great white bastion of socialism? Did it ever occur to a mathematically challenged leftist that Norway couldn't have decent socialized healthcare system if they tolerated a million illegals and anchor babies a day into their system?

Nope they wouldn’t allow it. But we’ll be called a horrible nation if we let them in so they can instantly get free healthcare and education and become unofficial citizens, waiting for the next Dem to get elected for eventual amnesty.

Where's the false insinuation? There is the story about Russians. Here is NBC's story on Chinese: https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/feds-raid-l-maternity-hotel-birth-tourists-n315996

Both articles from NBC were printed in 2018. Neither mentioned the births from insurgents from south of the border. Where's that article Tom?
    Well, I'll tell you.
In 2015, NBC did a short report to say there was nothing to worry about, explaining away any concerns or merit to the idea there is a problem with illegal immigration from our southern border. As if.

NBC deflected, and pointed once again to birth tourism from East Indians, Middle-Easterners, Asians, etc. If NBC is reporting the numbers, why would they leave out a significant contributor?

Logical deduction: NBC wants YOU to believe - and apparently have succeeded - that it's all about Russians and Chinese.
