Ironic given that you believe that the BLOTUS is a competent leader. That level of gullibility is hard to beat.

Do you have a clear view of the Milky Way at night or is it obscured by light pollution in your area?

If you personally can't see it clearly then how do you know that it contains at least 100 billion stars?

:roflol:Nah, all asteroids look the same to me, 'interstellar' or no! It's the insultingly condescending way that this one is being reported - as if (sorry to repeat myself) as if they're communicating with children? But I won't go there again! :nana:

Moving the goalposts because you cannot refute the science?

I don't say any such thing; I just say he's no worse than any of the others, past and present.

To be honest I've never even looked for the Milky Way, but I don't deny it's there.

You've made a typo there - there are at least 100 zilllion stars: it's forgivable though, 'cos z isn't very far from b. But don't forget, D_T, when it comes to things 'universe', big numbers impress much more than small numbers? No need to apologise for the typo though - even I've been known to make one now and again (not as many as you though! :smoking: ) [IMG]

You're right - I can't refute science. I can refute scientific BS though!

Since, by your own admission, you don't understand science you are not qualified to know what is and isn't BS when it comes to science.

In every single one of these threads where you have allegedly claimed to have
called our BS science" you have been consistently wrong.

That is not a track record that instills confidence.

(thinks: I have the distinct feeling there isn't gonna be a meeting of minds here! :lonely: ) But hey, y'cant win 'em all! 'Closed minds can't be opened, young Cerby, no matter how hard you try.' as my nanny used to say when she dandled me on her knee.

Oh my...I think I get you now...a little.

It would seem you rebel against information because of a limited knowledge base making you feel inadequate and you become angry or pouty. Kinda like a four year old holding his breath and stomping his feet because mommy wont buy him candy. We are the people shaking their heads and trying to get to another aisles before he starts crying.

A pathetic attempt to turn the narrative around to make me the childlike one, rather than yourself. You'll have to do better than that - much better!

This was an observation, I challenge you to point out ONE TIME in which I seemed childish...ONE SINGLE TIME.

It isn't a question of anything specific - you believe everything they say no matter how ridiculous, and that's what children do - they believe unquestioningly and without the need for material evidence. What really puzzles me is that you come across as an exceptionally intelligent individual.

I "Believe" these things for a series of reasons ranging from a respect for the work and abilities of people FAR more intelligent and educated than I will EVER be to personal confirmation of principle or concept through experimentation. Accepting science is not a childish action whereas dismissing it for the purpose of retaining ignorance certainly can be seen as such. I do not accept scientific information out of hand and instead often search or study to confirm the data before allowing it to become personal belief.
I do however, trust in the peer review process and allow it to do much of my research for me. You should understand the before this asteroid story was even released it was submitted to many other scientists and confirmed by separate observations, it was only then that it was submitted to Nature for publication and picked up by the media. Likely this observation is many months old by the time you and I hear about it.

By blowing it off or making fun of it you disrespect the work of many people in science and I find that unfortunate.

Finally now, because this is getting ridiculous . . . I don't disrespect the work of scientists, I disrespect the ludicrous spin of charlatans who expect me to believe them no matter how preposterous their outpourings are. You can, but I won't. End of.

    Nice rant.

Since you don't accept evolution, what do you believe? Spontaneous generation? Magic?

Now this is what I call real science . . .

"Cancer CURE 'next year': Scientists 'excited' at BREAKTHROUGH treatment"

    https://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/la...therapy-lift-biosciences-treatment-alex-blyth

And this is what I call fake science . . . just one of the many 'scientific discoveries' in today's headlines

    "
Flowing water on Mars' surface may just be rolling sand instead"

See the difference?? That the first is a proven discovery for the probable benefit of mankind, and the latter comes under the heading 'No news is no news, is no news.' You don't see the difference? No, I didn't think you would!

LOL Wow. You're a real piece of work, sir. No wonder the Brits had to take over Wales.

BTW, since you deliberately left out the link to the Mars article, I was curious why you did. Now I know: https://www.usgs.gov/news/previous-evidence-water-mars-now-identified-grainflows

I'm used to my discussions on the subject descending into sarcasm or smart-ass ripostes, or offerings of ridiculous counter-theorising based upon vested-interest sources to disprove my standpoint, and the above is the perfect example of it; so as far as I'm concerned, we're done here.
