Never did I say that, you sound pretty absurd yourself the way you're spinning posts. According to Jesus's lineage it's LIKELY he was olive skinned which means with greenish, or yellowish undertones but he could have been dark or lighter. I actually think there were more black and Middle Eastern people in the Bible than white, so please don't spin my posts.

The term black is obviously not clearly stated in the Bible, however Ethopia was mentioned. Moses married an Ethiopian for an example. Of course I believe black people existed in Israel and there were multiple cultures. However given Jesus's tribe and what was mentioned there isn't evidence supporting if Jesus was in fact a black man.

According to his lineage found at the beginning of Matthew, Jesus may have had Ethiopian ancestors, but not enough to clearly state if He was black.

its evidently very important to the western world that jesus had to be a white man given that every church ivisit or every religious documentary iwatch or any blockbuster movie made is to have Jesus as a white european man.

why do you think the white europeans are still pushing this white jesus agenda? its clearly an agenda otherwise they would be portraying Yesus as a black man instead.

so given the fact Yesus was likely of Ethiopian or Egyptian appearance why then does europe promote a pale white skinned jesus?

That I do not know, I really don't. I never understood the blue eyed, blonde images of Jesus.

youre honestly telling me you dont know why europeans uniformly portray Jesus as a white man and have done so relentlessly for the last 500 with the advent of the "renaissance"?

why not take a guess, humour me.

I have no idea because it doesn't make sense given Jesus's lineage. I guess artists painted Jesus as they wanted to see Him, isn't that what artists do in a lot of paintings?

Personally, I will humor you with my own personal guess and why I think the way I dom I think Jesus is olive skinned, ranging from medium to darker as He traveled a lot outside by foot and his lineage. Isaiah states Jesus was of an average appearance. I believe He was shorter as most Jews tend to be shorter, plus remains that have been found from back in Jesus's time period were small boned as were building structures the doorways are shorter than normal.

There is a lot of interpretations that are frankly not accurate. Kind of going into a broader topic, sort of off topic. Let's take a look at the crucifixion. We see images of three crosses on a very high hill or mountain. However, Jesus was crucified along a road and his actual site of death is not even know and there were more than 3 crosses, but because we hear of Jesus talking to 2 thieves we see only images of 3 crosses. Yet in our hymns we say "on a hill far away stood an old rugged cross," not "along a road." Also, they show crosses being VERY tall but they were short, because people would actually talk with those being crucified as they lived for a long time.

My point stating all that is we are given a lot of imagery that is not Biblically true nor historically accurate. All I can say is it's an artist's interpretation. I guess another reason is people want to believe Jesus resembles them in some way, a commonality perhaps? However, again I do not know there is a lot inaccurate imagery that has been portrayed....

Why isn't it fair to say that I don't know?

yes. its called "whitewashing" religious imagery in order to dominate that very culture one is look to subvert. if you can take away the culture of the colonized and say it is your own you not only strip the colonized of their identity but the colonist has then assumed the role of the colonized and in so doing strips the colonized of their land and possessions.

Those damn white people, them and their "whitelashing" and their teeth whiteners and white painted fences.

That black girl at the gas station register has straightened her hair and dyed it blond, she is obviously trying to subvert me and steal us white folk's, culture.

doesn't matter, you know what people mean when they say the "Middle East", this it's what we say when we mean the Middle East as we all know what it means

I never considered the concept. But I have come to the realization that he was not a tall, soft, lilly white European. It also occurs to me that were his image remarkable, as in unusually light or dark, handsome or tall, it probably would have been mentioned in both Testaments. Experts say he was probably about 5'5", thin and somewhat muscular from his work and foot travel, with brown eyes, black hair and beard kept trimmed short with a knife, olive brown skin, dressed in a tunic, cloak and sandals. Yikes, I just pictured Charlie Manson.

Olive skin is brownish, greenish or golden toned. Whatever you want to call it, Jesus was a Mediterranean Jew, not a black African.

Pretty easy really. Back in the day people never really traveled and cultures were mostly made up of the same ethnic group.

So in Europe it was common sence to portray Jesus, saints, or anyone linked to the religion the same colour and characteristics as it's audience It's all about relatability and selling Christianity to the common folk.

European painters were probably painting Jesus as a white man as they have only ever seen white men in their lives.

Same as characters in most stories back then represented the culture they were told in. Europeans stories would be about whites, African stories about blacks, Asian stories about Asians e.t.c . Why would the foundations of religion be any different?

It's like asking why are all Norse god's portrayed as white? If the gods ruled over the whole world and not just Scandinavia, why was there no ethnic diversity?? Why not portray say Odin as a black man ?

You're looking too deep into this.

Why does it matter where Jesus came from? He was a son of God.

I think you're forgetting God created his child. So it doesn't matter where gods child landed. Jesus's race would follow what God intended and it could have had little to do with the culture he was born into.

So in reality if you're so set on trying to guess what Jesus's skin colour was (which is childish and norrow minded). You need to turn to God for the answer and NOT guess based where he was born .

Literally nobody can say for sure what his race was. It's impossible and you're trying to make sence of a miracle.

We simply will never know. I have nothing against anyone portraying Jesus however they like. What's important is the teachings and mostly in your case not using Gods sons name to fuel your racist agenda.

Son of God. Jesus would be exactly how God intended him to be.

iguess it really was an impressive feat for all those white slavers to chain up and transport millions of so- called africans back to america WITH THEIR EYES SHUT.
You think those same slave so- called traders also employed BLIND artists to paint the thousands of images of jesus christ?

    idont believe you

isnipped all of your personal insults to get to the meat.

It matters a whole lot where the messiah came from, for historians like myself. probably doesnt matter at all to shallow individuals or deceivers

I copied his entire post, in the red text. Care to show where the "personal insults" are?

yes, it matters that we both know what were talking about, and we both know what "the Middle East" means

and when you snip my post like that, people miss part of the conversation and do not know what were talking about

don't worry, Middle Eastern Jesus forgives you

Christianity and paintings of Jesus were around a long time before slaves were shipped of to America. I think you need to read up on your history .

Completely different times and a completely irrelevant point.

There were no personal insults you simply cut out the bits that proves what you are saying is completely false. The only thing that may have hurt your feelings was my suggestion that you don't use the the Son of God's name to support a racist agenda. Sorry but I still do stand by that statement.

Anyways let me assume you are completely missing the point or don't understand it.

All I'm saying. Is that God created Jesus and as God is all powerful. So God could have created Jesus any race we wanted.

So in reality it's completely possible God could have created Jesus as a white man and all the paintings of white Jesus are historically accurate.

I'm not saying he is definitely white. I'm just saying it is possible. Same as it is possible that Creators son could have been any other race.

Are you able to understand this?
