I saw this DVD available at Target Superstore so I got it and watched it. It was interesting enough and cryptic enough to watch at least twice so I watched it again. I plan to watch it a third time more to get all the cryptic nuances. While it was not as dramatic or exciting as the first Blade Runner, it does take the story one more step along the way. You find out what happened to Deckard and Rachel. You meet a whole new cast of younger players. The plot leaves you stranded with wanting more to come. However since the movie was a financial flop and did not make as much money as it cost, I doubt there will be another sequel. Poor Rachel did not live long. But she did manage to conceive a miracle -- no pun intended. And Deckard is obviously a low grade Replicant himself. That explains his super human feats in the first movie -- which was a big clue. I would say that 2049 is worth buying at Target and watching at home a few times. Especially if you loved the first one. It's NOT great however, but it's not bad either. If you saw it already what did you think about it?
Yup it did take a long time to develop the plot. Watching it the second time goes faster because you understand better what is happening. That Deckard's and Rachel's child was also a replicant without any memories of her own made her a convenient source of artificial memories for other replicants since she invented her own memories while in her bubble of confinement -- a bubble girl.
So after about 5 viewings I finally get that K (Joe) received Deckard's daughter's real memories. But she was dressed like a boy at the time.
I enjoyed BR 2049 but not as much as the original. I didn't really see any new evidence in this movie that Deckard is a replicant and I always thought the reasons people cited for him being one in the original movie kind of weak.
