As opposed to Trump supporters at the Capitol building chanting,"Hang Mike Pence".

You're simply pretending two wrongs make a right.

Waters was wrong to say what she said.
Trump was wrong to say what he said.

Two separate, unrelated incidences that live on their own merits.
One does not excuse the other.

 

Trump never said to harass elected officials and drive them from public places. Try again.

 

If you want to go with that theory, then you'd have to admit that the Proud Boys and/or other white supremacy groups could be the ones responsible for the violence/looting/vandalism over the summer.

 

Trump's transgression was worse. He told his followers to disrupt the Constitutional duty of Congress to certify
the vote for weeks on end. Trump harassed public officials in Georgia and tried to get them to "find" votes that weren't there.
A direct violation of his Oath to uphold the Constitution.

Waters was wrong to make her comments and I would never vote for her.
You would still vote for Trump.
That's the difference between us.

1. Waters showed contrition - Trump never has
   
2. It was and is unclear if Waters meant anything beyond verbal harassment to make it clear that people were not happy about the whole “kids in cages” thing
3. She was not trying to overturn an election based on lies she was trying to save children
4. Waters did not repeat the call over and over for months = Trump has been riling u0 his base since before the election
5. Waters did not tell a crowd of inflamed supporters to go down to the Capitol
