Many of us are already ignoring Federal law on pot. And it is clear that the SC is now corrupt and politically biased. We are not bound to honor the decisions of a corrupt court. And unless the Dems can take control and pack the court with 4 more liberal judges, things will not change for the foreseeable future. With that, it seems that short of secession, which does not appear to be anywhere near being legalized, and short of civil war, the only alternative is to start ignoring Federal law as we see fit.

This may be the path of least resistance. And like Bruce Lee said, "Be like water".

No, you bring up pot. Blue states are more likely to legalize it and I live in a very red state where it is illegal. It would be unethical for me to buy weed on the black market because of the supply chain, which causes incarceration and misery. But your point is, should the states ignore federal guidelines? That's another no. If states think they can do that and not be sanctioned by the federal government there would be chaos.....think of what the red states would do, Christian Sharia law.

So long as you are OK with red states ignoring the USSC and Federal law - sure.

They aren't even part of my country. Why would I care?

Do support legalizing secession so we can end this nightmare?

I vote no, but if any Federal law infringes on the rights reserved to the States and people they are open to judicial review. Until then you ignore them at your own peril.

I do not believe we should ignore Federal Law or any laws. Two wrongs don't make a right.

I agree we should probably split the country at this point. Admittedly, I don't know what that would look like but we should have never, ever come to the madness Trump has caused. They clearly want to hurt all of us that don't buy his BS and would happier in their own separate space so how do we get everybody on that plan?

I'm unable to forgive the Capitol riot. I have never NOT forgiven anyone so this is new territory for me. But, I'm willing to stand behind their wish to secede. I don't want to live in a country with people that think any of that is justifiable.

" Their wish to secede "...... Maybe you've had a hard time noticing but the only ones on this board who are calling for secession and splitting up the country are you and your fellow lefties.

So the op claims that " red states are not part of MY country " ......

    Advocates for ignoring federal laws.

And advocates for splitting up the country by any means.

Yet you and your ilk, claim that we are the "extremist".

Truly an alternate "reality" completely disconnected from anything here in the genuine reality

I am a Canadian who supports the freedom of choice for the citizens and residents of Alberta to leave Canada and join the U.S.A...... .especially if and when Biden is impeached or indicted and President Trump is somehow put back into power........

0.00000000000000000000000% chance that Biden is removed from office (baring health issues) prior to 1/20/25

Can you point me to the political parts of their very sound and very constitutional based ruling of RvW? Or any of their rulings.

You might want to remove a few zeros and add a 1 at the end. If the criminal tax and FARA investigation into the family finances is shown to have included The Big Guy and the payments from foreign countries and there is a Republican House he could be impeached and even a few Dems to vote in the Senate to remove. That would put Harris into the office with their best chance to make a case for her election into the office although I think she would lose even in the primary.

You will need 15-18 Dems to remove, not a few.

You can't see the difference in the conservative and liberal interpretation of the 14th Amendment? The liberal interpretation would be to give more rights to the people like interracial marriage, gay marriage and a women's right to bodily autonomy all things conservatives were/are against.

I think leaving the union ( which I believe I would support to create a Pacific United States of America, with Washington, California and Hawaii ) to create this new country, has to involve at the very least a vote in support of such a dramatic change. I still believe in the rule of federal law, paying my taxes and I intend to remain a citizen of the United States, until I see that referendum pass. That citizenship, based on the constitution and federal statutes provides me rights, some entitlements and some responsibilities.

I am not just walking away from the United States and its constitution when its convenient for me, and then expect its protection when I get into trouble. I want the right to avail myself of the federal appelate system, and that means providing a certain loyalty and obedience.

You can’t. There is no way a bunch of geographically separated counties can become a separate sovereign country.

So … I guess that means that Americans are stuck with each other. My suggestion is that we learn to act like mature grownups rather than spoiled 5 year olds. Mature grownups win, and lose, gracefully.

We don't. Its wholy unrealistic The four pacific coast states are overwhelmingly blue WA, OR, CA, HA. We simply vote to leave the union and start our Pacific States of America. If the Northeastern states choose to create their own. They do the same. Red states can keep the SCOTUS, and the electoral college, and do whatever they want.

I say go for it. If theres a federal AWB, I dont plan on respecting it, and history indicates 3/4 of the Sherrifs in my state wont either.

Just out if curiosity... which federal laws in particular are you refering to?

I would suggest you look at the electoral maps of CA, OR, and WA. You see those huge red areas? They aren’t joining some new blue country and you can’t make them. The new Western States of America are going to be small, geographically separated land areas surrounded by red.
