    Gday Punters

Prior to the last election Julia Gillard said there would be no carbon tax.
    Now there is.
Obviously this is Bob Browns legislation presented as Gillards
    Labour Policy.
    What a joke
Everyone that voted for Gillard as Pm now has Brown running the country.
That thought scares me as the Greens will ruin this country.
Bob Brown calling the shots in a hung Parliament as the most powerful
    man in Australia
    God help us :puke:

God wont help you or anyone else. Only you can do that.

Carbon must be priced in one way or another if we intend to reduce the amount dumped into the atmosphere. How it is priced is the tricky bit.

    Garbage!!

Australia contributes to this problem as a minor percentage of the
world wide problem. Even if we achieve the Governmental targets, our
percentage of atmospheric pollution will only reduce by a miniscule
amount...google it amigo....oh and by the way, dont be surprised
if that imbecile Brown, dressed up as Big Julie, introduces a Death Tax
    before long.....adios amigo...:puke:

No, there isn't: there's a proposal for a carbon tax

    Most likely, yes.

No one voted for Gillard as PM: we don't vote for the Prime Minister in Australia. The PM is selected by the governing party, not the people.

Doesn't scare me. He wouldn't be the most powerful man in the country anyway: the PM in Australia doesn't hold all the power. In fact, the PM isn't even in the Australian Constitution.

I hated seeing the smiling buffoon standing next to her at the press conference. Bloody Liberals giving their preferences to the Greens in the Melbourne seat. I would have much rather a left of centre Labor MP in the lower house then a totally useless socialist Green. Now Bob Brown thinks that suddenly one Green is in the House of reps and he deserves to throw all his stupid ideas into the mix.

I don't know why Labor feels is has to keep pandering the the Greens, it's not like they are going to side with the Libs.

(*)(*)(*)(*) off Brown stop thinking you have a mandate for your prehistoric death tax, abolishment of the medicare rebate and all your other dumb green schemes.

Political Parties can only direct their preferences. The final decision is up to the voter.

Yes but it is common knowledge that a lot of people vote for what their parties card says, because they want the best result for their party.

A lot of the Libs voters would have put the Greens before Labor because the card said so.

A lot of Libs voters are stupid.

How-to-vote cards are merely a suggestion.

I am merely pointing out that the Liberals putting the Greens over Labor on the how-to-vote cards contributed to the Greens getting in. This is undeniable.

And we'll see who's stupid when the Greens idiocy sends us to the (*)(*)(*)(*)ter.

I'd say anyone who votes for Labor is intelligent and well informed. Which is why I vote for em - although I haven't in the past two elections.

After July the Greens will have I think... 9 senators? They will hold the balance of power in the Senate and all legislation will have to be ok'd by the greens. Defacto PM is a bit strong, but Brown will have a lot of power very soon. The ALP only hold the executive at the grace of the independents and the greens one mp anyway.

I believe Gillard said before the election (though I wasn't in the country so not sure) that there would be a price on carbon, but not a carbon tax. I think the liberals calling Gillard an Australian 'Gadhafi' are going way overboard and should just calm themselves down a little bit.

If she's Judy, Abbott must be punch. Not sure it's really an appropriate analogy in the first place but whatever floats your boat.

Labor didn't involve Australia in an illegal war that resulted in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians.

Labor didn't lie about "children overboard".

Labor didn't allow a so-called "ally" to illegally imprison and allegedly torture Australian citizens
