Remember to employ them as 'models' and that way if they get too fat you can legitimatly fire them (apparantly).

So we have gone from "footballers are sexist neanderthals" to "It's a widespread belief that many footballers are sexist neanderthals".

Better, but still a generalistion. Sounds like you don't think for yourself, you just believe whatever others believe.

But why pick on footballers, I would say there are many men, I personally know and have known quite a few myself, that could be described as sexist neanderthals. I can say the same for women too.
No doubt you think basket ball players are sexist neanderthals too.

au contraire, my confused friend: I've always thought that all forms of football harbour sexist neanderthals; it just so happens that many people now agree with me.

You can rest assured little buddy, I believe nothing that you believe.

"There is obviously an inherent sexism in football these days, not to mention racism and homophobia. In fact, it is possible that football is the least progressive of all the major sports today."

Freedom of speech is an amazing thing. On these threads I have found I have on occasions argued black and blue with an opponent on one subject, then supported them to the hilt on another.

Discussion brings about reasonability, a status quos tend to find the "best fit" if things can be openly debated.

Politics has become a circus, especially here in Australia, the US and most modern Western Countries. When polititions need image consultants not policy consultants to win elections then we have truly gone mad.

I constantly hear that the situation with our leadership is not what the people wanted, garbage. Canberra is confused because we are confused, we don't know which way to turn, who to believe.

Media hypes, polls, talk back radio, just about everyone has an opinion, we are split nearly 50/50 on most issues. I don't believe this is because we are dumb, but numb. Bombarded by "facts" and conspiracy theories people are totally misled and confused.

Quiet honestly, I do not know either way about things like climate change, and I am a biochemist with 3 degrees. I started to research "green house" affects etc, but had a bit of a revelation.

I love documentaries and still have a book my father bought me over 50 years ago on The Animal Kingdom. Last evening I watched a doco on the Andes and the Congo, a few days previous one on whales.

We are so very lucky ... we have the most amazing planet, swarming over inch of which there is the most fantastic array of plants, animals and other living organisms.

In my travels both at home and abroad I have walked around a corner and came across scenes that have made my knees week with their magnificence.

I have also seen some horrific sights of death, war, poverty, destruction of plants, animals and environments, all brought about by man, all brought about due to greed for money or power, all due to maliciousness, stupidity or ignorance.

We should be using our superior intelligence for increasing our standard of living, whilst decreasing our foot print on the earth, it can be done.

Am I green, well I think it is better to sleep under a tree and eat it's fruit then it is to cut it down and burn it to keep warm, and even worse to sell it to by a TV ... so yes I suppose I am green

You didn't answer the question, why pick on football? and why pick on men? there are men AND women who could be described as sexist neanderthals in most sports, indeed throughout society.
Mens and womens teams of any sort are sexist. Are you saying we should stop mens and womens teams? Or is it just football you have a problem with?

It was the sport mentioned in this thread. I simply responded to it.

The discussion was about women being allowed to play with men.

I agree. I've never suggested otherwise.

I'm not advocating the banning of anything.

Football was the sport mentioned, by another forum member. I simply replied.

Was there anything else I could assist you with today?

Seeing that its Julias birthday, I thought Id post the current
betting odds for the next federal election and also the odds
for the leader of the government on election day:

    ALP: $3.50
    The Drovers Dog $3.60
    Opposition: $1.28

    Leader:
    Gillard $2.35
    Crean $4.00
    Rudd $4.60
    Smith $4.60
    Shorten $7.50
    Combet $13.00
Any other (includes the Lodge Cleaner $15.00)
    Bowen $40.00
    Swan $40.00

Shorten is likely to shorten and Combet will have to combat Stephen
Smith...(streetcorner tip is the Cleaner....as the rumour is the air
will be cleaner with a carbon tax...Swan won the Medal for the
Best Treasurer...but not the Best and Fairest...)

    Happy 50th Julia....you dont look a day over 70.....:winner:

Labor just can’t manage money. Just 4 years ago, Labor inherited a Government with no debt – it actually had money in the bank. Julia Gillard and Wayne Swan, through their wasteful and reckless spending, are now on track to rack up a record debt of $107 billion – in the middle of a mining boom!

The Labor Government’s daily interest payments are now nearly $20 million a day! The result is increased taxes, cuts to family benefits and a lack of business and community confidence.

As ordinary Australians face real challenges to meet the cost of their household bills, Labor continues to waste money.....

20 million bucks a day this incompetent government is costing us, yet we debate minor issues such as women in the grunts and whether a pokie
machine revamp is necessary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....jeez..how bout reeling some debt in players......

Has any Labor government ever involved us in an illegal war, allowed Australians to be illegally imprisoned and allegedly tortured and told lies about asylum seekers throwing children overboard?

Don't start illegal wars, allow Australians to be illegally imprisoned and allegedly tortured and don't tell lies about asylum seekers throwing children overboard.

Mate, theres no way Labor has ever delivered a budget surplus, and with
Brown and his cronies on board with Gillard, Australia will go down the gurglar
before you know it.....@ $25 million a day....and thats only the interest.....
