We know that Barak was negotiating in good faith because his bold offers would have been implemented if Arafat had agreed.

But what evidence is there that Arafat was an honest dealer in these negotiations and not just playing the part of a peace seeker? I believe the conventional wisdom about Arafat and the Palestinian negotiators since then that, in reality, all he/they was doing was trying to extract from the Israelis whatever he could without giving up anything at all.

And at the end of the protracted talks the Palestinians would emerge from them having bought time and or land or money or materials.

    And given up nothing.

They'd be AT LEAST no further behind than they were at the start.

And quite possibly that much more enriched and/or rested.

Did you even read the article? You have provided no evidence that shows Arafat was simply 'playing the part of the peace keeper,' while my article has shown that your contention is ridiculous.

I'm going by dozens, maybe hundreds of articles, books and etc I've read in addition to the equally numerous hours I've spent watching films, videos and listening to audio on the subject.

Arafat was known for his deception, was he not? DWasn't he known for saying ONE thing in front of Western TV news cameras to 'work' the English speaking world and then gloat in TV news interviews with Arab or Muslim news organizations to the Palestinian people that he'd fooled the West and he would now take advantage of them for buying into his subterfuge?

Excellent, then it won't be that difficult of a task to provide us with at least one source.

    Uhhh, what?

    *smacks head against table*

Are you (*)(*)(*)(*)ing kidding me? I mean oh my (*)(*)(*)(*)ing god, I feel like my head is going to explode here, and I am almost at a loss for words.

Let me read this again, ok?

Yea, that's what I thought you said.

This is all a bunch of crap, 8 gallons of it overflowing from a 5 gallon bucket.

So kindly tell me, what was Barak trying to negotiate that would have gotten Yasser Arafat killed.

But even more importantly, how would this have even been possibly since Yasser Arafat died over 4 years before Barack Obama became President!

At the time that Mr. Arafat died, Mr. Obama was simply a Senator in the Illinois State Assembly.

So please tell us, why would a lowly State Legislature member be negotiating with the leader of the PLO? Or was he negotiation with an Ouiji board with his ghost? This makes absolutely no sense to me, and it simply goes to prove you have no clue what you are talking about.

Of course all his references are from and have the Storm Front (tm) seal of approval.

And they all have that amazing attention to detail that he always shows in his posts. Like the one I just highlighted, where apparently the President negotiates with and is worried that corpses might get killed.

    Will Wikipedia do?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2000_Camp_David_Summit
Mr. Arafat met with Israel P. M. Ehud Barak but no agreement was signed…… perhaps because he suspected that he would be killed if he did sign anything?!

We need to understand the past in order to usher in a better future......

    America - Israel
    Canada - Israel
    Israel - Jordan
and Jordan to the P. A. relations.....
are in a place to become HIGHLY PRODUCTIVE but.....
we do need to remember this aspect of the past........
in order to do what needs to be done in a way that will not
get the present leader of the P. A. killed....... because he seems to be
    a MASSIVE IMPROVEMENT OVER ARAFAT!!!!!!!!

I am being told by some posters on this forum that President Abbas is
an entirely different type of political leader than President Arafat was......
