Very relevant and of course, very popular. Conservative is the real counterculture in this day and age.
Can someone, preferably a member of the right explain to me what the fuss is about Target? I can shop there and walk right by the LGBTQ items without purchasing them. So why should any of us take issue with something we have no interest in purchasing? Why should Target be punished for carrying products that target (pun unintended) a minority group?
I just clicked the link you provided, thanks for providing it. The choirs is about they target your kids. I would say they are targeting the LGBTQ community. Businesses target many demographics so what is wrong with catering to the LGBTQ community? In terms of child psychology I have seen no data that shows exposure to the LGBTQ community or community friendly products turns kids gay or trans. So what am I missing here?
Kids do not need clothes to tuck or bind anything. I'm sure many of the fact checks will just flatly restate the press release points but this arose because people were going into the stores and filming the march.
I have seen conflicting information on the tuck or bind clothing. Do you have a link that talks specifically about the issue? I will do a Google too before I further respond. I appreciate you taking the time to help me understand the issue.
I take it this is what you are referring to? https://www.target.com/p/tomboyx-tucking-hiding-bikini-underwear-gaff-shaping-bottoms/-/A-88670232
My mind is not made up here. My concern is harm. What harm is caused by allowing sexual reassignment surgery and what harm is caused by denying it or delaying it until they come to age? Those are questions I currently cannot answer. I wonder if there is a consensus within the child psychology community on the subject? I may have to take a look before I come to a conclusion. I now understand what all the hubbub is about. Next I need to talk to supporters of the product to get their take on the issue.
Upon further inspection the offending undies are sold under women’s intimates. Is there evidence that the undies are for children?
I honestly don't spend a lot of time shopping at Target nor shopping for children's clothes. That ship has sailed for me long ago. I'm simply noting that like so many "fact checks" in this day and age they read a press release in a firm tone while asking you to ignore your own eyes and ears. People were going into Target, pulling the merchandise out and filming the claims on the labels. So not to sidetrack too far from this thread but the point of all of this happening as a minor vs adult is a belief that if you get hormones and operations early enough you will possibly be more "passing". That of course is about how others perceive you and isn't at all about how you live your life, process how you feel or anything of that nature. The reality is almost all trans people I've ever met would not be declaring to be passing in any fashion. The blame for that is placed on the fact they went through regular puberty and then transitioned as an adult. But the point of being allowed to live trans shouldn't be about if someone will believe you are the opposite sex. The point is being allowed to live your life. That can easily happen for anyone who transitions medically as an adult. Not so simple in that people are allowed to push back, protest and make their opinions known to corporations. That's not a crime. They are allowed their speech and to organize boycotts, protests and more. They don't just have to sit sullen, silent and accept whatever Target is doing by simply not shopping there. They can do more.
you mean like Amazon... oops, guess not there either "Pride at Amazon" https://hiring.amazon.com/why-amazon/culture/pride#/
