The Bible and Saddam are both violent and evil.

Which bit of this do you say is violent and evil?-
Jesus said- "Love one another, feed the hungry, house the homeless, clothe the destitute, tend the sick, visit the prisoners, look after the poor" (Mark 12:30, John 13:34, Matt 25:37-40)

So if I can find where, say, CHARLES MANSON, wrote some nice, good, happy stuff, you apparently feel that that would absolve him of all the BAD things he ever did (like you think that a few good verses absolve the barbaric Bible of it's barbarity). Doesn't work that way, my friend.

God sent Jesus to give us the enlightened New T (the clue is in the name).
No offence mate but are you a fundy cultist obsessed with the harsh Old T?
I've been slapping fundies around on the internet debating circuit for 15 years..:)-

The best way to beat a "fundy" would be to have the moral courage to remove said OT from your Bible. Can you summon the courage to do that?

No need to remove the OT from the Bible mate, you can buy the OT, New T and the Gospels separately already, for example here's a typical slimline gospel, they're free from most Christian groups, or sell for a few pence in bookshops, or just read online..:)

So I guess god didn't get it right in first place (Bible 1.0, the OT), so a 2.0 (NT) was needed. Funny, I'd think that an all-knowing cretor of the entire universe would get it right the first time (seeing how he can see the future and all).....

The Old T was aimed at relatively primitive tribes so God had to talk tough to them, then later when they became more civilised he sent Jesus to give them the enlightened New T. At least he lasted 3 years before they killed him.

Too bad he's not actually real or he would have CONTINUED with that understandable program - by coming down every century (or decade) or so - to continue to educate people, as we became more civilized, like you point out. I would have if I had god's magic ninja X-men super-hero super-powers....but I care more about the world than Christians do, because most Christians I've asked about that WON'T agree with me on that - they don't care about the world as much as Modern Secular Humanists do, obviously.

Excellent picture, and I love how you included a very relevant quote from your Bible....you're a pleasure to debate.

    1- God said through Jesus-
"Love one another, feed the hungry, house the homeless, clothe the destitute, tend the sick, visit the prisoners, look after the poor" (Mark 12:30, John 13:34, Matt 25:37-40)
So if people can't take that on board he's not going to waste time coming down over and over again to repeat it..:)
2- I'm not sure what you mean about superhero powers. The human brain is already the most powerful thing on the planet for setting things right..:)

God/Jesus, they claim, has magic ninja-like X-men super-hero super-powers (uh, so I don't believe he's real of course), so he can allegedly do anything. Such as give us the final cure for cancer.
Dropship, do you love humanity as much as Modern Secular Humanists do? - for example, if you had these super-powers that god/Jesus allegedly has, would you have given us the cure for AIDS already? A Modern Secular Humanist would of course answer "yes!".....what is YOUR answer?

Any question that begins with the word "if" is just hypothetical, so I can't really answer it.
For example "if" I could cure AIDS, would I have the right to do so, because for all we know AIDS might somehow fit into God's Plan, and I wouldn't want to tread on his toes.
Anyway Jesus said we could do miracles just like he could, with prayer-power, there ya go..:)
As for "loving humanity", I'm always polite and friendly to Jesus-rejecters, but could never love them, and the Bible backs me up to the hilt-
"What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?..Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord, I will be a Father to you, and you shall be my sons and daughters" (2 Cor 6:14-18 )

PS- I also cross the street to avoid so-called "christian" cultists and assorted religious crackpots-
"He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm" (Proverbs 13:20)
"If you hang around with losers you become a loser"- Donald Trump

By your answer, clearly, Jesus has failed MISERABLY to create ethical/loving followers because at least this one believer can't even answer "yes" to this simply moral question that I asked: "if you had these super-powers that god/Jesus allegedly has, would you have given us the cure for AIDS already? A Modern Secular Humanist would of course answer "yes!".....what is YOUR answer?

If AIDS "somehow fit into God's Plan" like you say then your particular god (there are over 5000 on offer) is one sick, twisted SOB - clearly not worth worshipping to a Modern Secular Humanist - we love humanity too much to be a part of a sicko like that particular unique god.
