He already said "no" a billion times, but everyone still spread rumors that he might run, so he finally put those rumors officially to rest. Perhaps people will stop talking about his bid now.

I don't think he had a chance in winning, anyway. Playing the political game and staying loyal to the state in which he was elected was the right move.

Good. Who needs that anti-gun blimp in the White House?

How in the world is this "breaking news"?

He's been saying he's not going to run for a year. :bored:

Obama will lose to Romney worse than Carter lost to Reagan.

Romney won't get the nod. Thanks to the Tea Party.

Supporting some gun control laws for New Jersey makes a person anti-gun?

I wish the Republicans would stop taking cheap shots at each other, because Obama is going to pick up all this spent ammo and use it in 2012.

Yep. If someone thinks they have the right to tell law abiding citizens when and where they can defend themselves, then that person is anti-gun.

He said he supports some laws concerning gun-control, and he was speaking specifically about New Jersey, not the entire country.

So you don't support allowing convicted criminals to own guns?

I'm glad Christie finally put an end to the speculation. Now he can concentrate on NJ and we'll have a STRONG future Republican candidate out there in 4-8 years.

Who are the Dems grooming to take Obama's place someday? Debbie Wasserman Schultz?

Couldn't agree more, Blackrook. I swear, some of 'em sound more flighty than the libs.

Why would anyone want to step into Obama's mess anyway. It will take some time for the new Republican majority congress (13+ seats in the Senate) to straighten out the mess the Democrats made there since Jan 2007. A large Republican majority in Congress will do more than a (R) in the White House. They can easily neuter Obama and his agenda thereby turning him into the Christmas tree of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, there for ornamental purposes only. Meanwhile, Obama can take the blame for the economy till the Republican fixes can kick in.

With Christie out, only one viable non-establishment candidate remains.

    Herman Cain.

Herman Cain is taking the low road lately. I'm not at all happy with him.

Besides which, he is a Republican version of Obama. He has not been the governor of a major state. I think that's a minimum experience requirement to be a good President.

Congresswoman from Florida, Chair of the Democratic National Committee. One of the few 'bright stars' of the Dem party. Lucky them, huh?

I'd take a president with good ideas and no experience in politics over one with bad ideas and no experience in business anytime. We can't demand a smooth-talker when what we really need is a results-person. I think it's a shame the two candidates with the most experience at problem solving under their belts are being judged by their ability to spout off BS to a microphone.

Excellent point, Prof. Might add why would Obama want another term when he knows he's gonna be crippled by a Rep majority? I think we all know it's not because he LOVES the job so much. Gonna be hard to go back to Chitown after you've tasted the power of DC.

There is no other road for Republicans anymore, well except Paul and maybe Romney.

Please, enlighten all of us as to ONE thing, just one solution that the current House Republicans have proposed, set forth, or even sent to the Senate for passage that has helped our current political situation in the absolute least. Just one thing. One policy, solution, suggestion, stance, anything that is actually passable, a no-brainer-you-have-to-pass-idea.

Yeah, I haven't seen a (*)(*)(*)(*) thing from them either, and of course, I don't expect anything from them. The last GOP majority we had before this past year saw Medicare part D, two wars, deregulation of wall street, massive deficit increases and irresponsible tax breaks used to pad the pockets of the wealthy and increase the wealth gap. Gee, we really need more D+ policies like that. I mean, if the GOP gets in charge again, they need to en even lower bar to set than their previous efforts, so that they can leave the following left wing government an even WORSE crap storm to deal with.

I'm not sure if this was supposed to be a joke, but if America is dumb enough to re-elect Obama, then it deserves 4 more years of economic destruction and no jobs. Talk about Stockholm syndrome.

Please say it's so! Dispite your sad vitriol, thinking you could immediately discredit a fine and true American with BS, she'll be a con's worst nightmare.
Deb is the kind of pit bull this country needs to tear the hell out of cons. This is great news for America if it's true.
You're not lying again, are you, smartie? Please don't be lying again!

Oh, and you're 'glad' Christie is out of the race, so... you can toss in the towel for '12? That'd be the smartest thing you've done.

Debbie Wasserman Shultz! :-D Yeah baby! Now you'll see how libs take the gloves off, and it's going to be torture!
