So, what you’re trying to say is that the GOP will subvert the process.

No, Nemy, that is not what I was "trying to say"... and I don't know how to condense my already-shortened summary any further, so, feel welcome to make of it what you will, or, nothing at all.... :wall:

Dems were clearly desperate to win. Why not wait until 2028? Desperate enough to commit fraud, lying about Harris’s chances of winning to major donators. Trump is offering to pay the vendors but not the donators who simply invested in Harris hoping to get a return on their investment if Harris won. Huge scandal coming.

Why didn’t Democrats push for an actual amendment that specifically applied to abortion rights? Or better yet Obama codifying abortion into law in 2016 when he had control of Congress as he promised during his campaign?

Personally I disagree with these kinds of things but if there are serious medical reasons for her to leave or question her long term tenure, then maybe it's justified.

    CNN is reporting otherwise

I don’t think democrats trying to force people to step down has worked out so well. I highly doubt this would be a good idea given Trump winning the popular vote and the senate. He arguably has the voters backing to pick a vacated seat. I think this could backfire just as bad as Biden’s removal. Democrats should be careful of pushing back, it hasn’t been friendly to them.

While I do agree with your summation, this Democrat ploy is still in the "trial balloon" stage. Democrats are still trying to figure out how badly they've damaged themselves by going with a 'woke', 'virtue-signalling', DEI ticket -- so -- nothing is completely cast in concrete... yet.

But one thing is clear, Joe, by even trying to float an idea like this, they reveal themselves quite capable of pulling nearly any kind of underhanded, low-life **** imaginable.

THREE DAYS AFTER THE ELECTION IS OVER THEY COME UP WITH THIS...?! John F. Kennedy must be spinning in his grave!

Democratic elites can always fly to Paris, France and their private jest for abortions and dinner afterwards on the main strip. The abortion as an issue is more important to them to keep the ignorant voting for therm. If you are not an elite then you really should stop defending them.

You 'promise' that Republicans are going to 'push' somebody out? Well, Eddie, there's a hell of a big difference between speculation offered without any substantiation (an 'opinion') and actually witnessing a political group trying to DO it.

I don't know what Republicans are going to do, and frankly, neither do you -- but we are seeing now that there are some in Democrat inner-circles that want to push Sotomayor out so that Biden and Schumer can stick in some other lib Justice, now that the election is OVER.

I suggested way back in April, in posts right here in the Forum, that if Democrats were smart, they'd get Sotomayor to resign (it was already being rumored then that she might) and then they'd have a convenient, politically-acceptable place to stick Kamala Harris. Instead, they ran for the presidency with Kammy, and suffered the biggest defeat since Ronald Reagan crushed Jimmy Carter in 1980!

My own conjecture ('opinion')? If Democrats persist in this naked, gut-bucket ploy to boot Sotomayor and replace her with a younger liberal Justice, it will blow up in their faces no matter whether they're successful or not!

I doubt a mental midget such as Kackles could get confirmed. Sotomayor was somewhat a DEI pick being the first Latina and she wasn't much of a circuit judge but she was summa cum laude at Princeton and Yale law where she was on the law journal, plus she had years of judicial experience. Kackles flunked the bar-was a mediocre student at far weaker schools and has no judicial nor federal legal experience.

You've done your homework! And a good job of contrasting a liberal Latina Justice who had roots in the radical National Council of 'La Raza', with Kammy, who got her real start by being a 'minority' in the San Francisco bureaucracy, after flunking the bar exam the first time.

But, to Democrats (remember, you have to think like a Democrat), it's enough qualification for elevation into the highest court in the land to accept that, as a Kalifornia Attorney General, Kammy "knows something about the law" -- and therefore she would have all the 'cred' she needs to become a Justice on the SCOTUS!

Using very much the same kind of 'thought-process', Democrats decided that a liberal college teacher with connections in the Chicago bureaucracy (Barack Hussein Obama) was good enough to be a President of the United States! Again, remember, you have to think like a Democrat.... :spin:

I don't know what you're talking about. I'm saying a President is elected for four years. It's immoral to deny him their RIGHT to appoint a Supreme Court Justice while they are President. Even if it's the LAST day of their presidency (of course there might be logistic issues that could make that impossible... but let's not split hairs). And that is true for ANY President!

The rest of your post is irrelevant to any of this!

I can see that we're our customary 'billion miles apart' on this Democrat ploy, Golem, so I'll do us both a favor and just let it play itself out -- but I'm hopeful that the more skillful, intelligent Democrat power-brokers will abandon it.

Look -- if Democrats had forced Sotomayor to resign even as recently as a month ago, and made a ram-jammed appointment of Kamala Harris to the Supreme Court to replace her (in exactly the same way as Trump did with Amy Coney Barrett), you would not hear one word of complaint from me or any other Conservative!

But trying to pull some kind of crap like this, three days AFTER the election was held, and utterly lost by Democrats, is the most unethical, low-life kind of stunt I can imagine. If the situation were completely reversed, and Republicans were trying to do this after a resounding Democrat series of victories, I'd bitch just as loud and just as long... believe it or not.

Ok. If you don't believe a President is elected for four years, then I guess we ARE a billion miles apart. I'm with the Constitution and the laws... and you're with... I don't even know what you're with...

"Forced"? What the hell are you talking about? You mean point a gun to her head, or what? Democrats have no way of "forcing" ANYBODY to resign.

    What nonsense!

And appointing Kamala Harris... even MORE nonsense! That would be the LAST person they would appoint. Why would they do that?

You're not even TRYING to make any sense anymore...

In any case, Democrats are not going to do any of that.... I'm just saying that your claim that this would be somehow more "immoral" than McConnell not allowing a vote for Obama's appointee is beyond absurd.

all three of the Dem picks were somewhat DEI-especially Jackson but at least she has an honors degree from Harvard Law. Kagan had a very very strong academic record but almost no courtroom experience so she like Jackson was somewhat deficient. Kamala doesn't come close to those three Democrat appointees-all of whom had strong academic records. Bubblebrain is at best an average intellect
