Right now there don't seem to be any details on the shooter. Maybe the media will wait until there are details before they can figure out how this is Trump's fault.

I'm guessing a gun free zone in the state with the strictest gun laws. Yeah, sure, gun control is the answer.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the victims.

Real sad & prayers to the families.

It is terrible to say, but these stories are no longer shocking. They are now something you expect to hear about a couple times a year.

More than true. The police spokesman says the gunman has not yet been identified and terrorism has not yet been ruled out, but it's certainly more than possible this was a nut trying to make himself famous.

Social media has created a lot of anger as well. The area/club was considered a safe area. When will people understand that "safe areas" are usually soft targets.

Aren't most bars gun free zones?

Going to be a lot more Republican hopes and prayers followed by no action.

If you think you can get California to get rid of their gun control laws, have at it.

I doubt the rate of actual mental illness has increased significantly. More drugs, more guns and less available treatment more likely to be the issue.

I saw on the news while they were interviewing the witness, the shooter was wearing a black mask over the lower part of their face, with a black baseball cap. Sounds a lot like what Antifa wears. Shooting up a country bar. Not saying it is, but...

Why would I think California is going to get rid of it's gun laws. What about the word " no action" do you not understand.

There have always been **** tons of guns. That's not part of the issue. Mental illness is.

What you said is basically code for "gun control", which is not the answer.

There have always been guns, but there has always been mental illness too. The biggest difference then vs now is hateful social media. Mental illness is like a smoldering ember, and hateful social media is gasoline.

I don't know if that is applicable in this case; I'm speaking generally.

And what do you think the answer is? And yes strengthed universal background checks might help. And taking guns from the mentally unstable might help. The one thing that has been proven to do absolutly nothing is Republican " hopes and prayers"

Yeah, cause everyone with mental health issues seek help. And those who do seek help aren't always dangerous. You are talking about confiscation (not surprising) from people based on recommendations that are based on speculation of that person. We've already seen democrat politicians call ALL military vets "crazy", why would we expect the confiscation you propose to not end in confiscating guns from everyone?

Is that what they were used for? For all time? Guns have only been use for hunting huh? Man, the media has seriously hid the fact that guns have been used just about every day in Chicago and Detroit for much more than "just hunting" for decades.
1929 - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Valentine's_Day_Massacre Guess this was "hunting" too right?

I'm not pretending there is an answer. Banning cell phones and social media maybe, but that will be about as effective as banning guns. This is the reality we live with, so the answer is make sure you are prepared to defend yourself, because no one else will. The police will likely show up when it is far too late.

Often times the cure is worse than the symptoms.

Trump has twitter, the MSM covers and pushes their narrative of his tweets 24/7 across several channels and their FB and own twitter accounts, but sure, blame the single person vs the media complex.

Sorry but pretending universal strict background checks is the same as banning guns is just plain intellectually dishonest.
