As for Sanders, he is the radical type of leftist that the Dem Party adores during the primaries but it is a political axiom that however radical a Dem Party presidential contender appears during the primaries in order to gain the support of the party's radical core, ALWAYS they instantly become mainstream moderate during the actual contest against the Republican candidate; and Sanders cannot . . . do . . . that.

He really is too much of a radical basket case and the DNC knows that he can't pull off looking or acting like a moderate for month after month after month . . . and so I think it will be Elizabeth Warren instead. But of course I could be wrong.

Neither side is "better" in any fixed sense. They are only better suited to certain times/situations. For example, in the latter half of the 20thC, liberal politics were very much needed .. to correct the injustices of preceding decades.
