Do I believe they can get a craft within 4 million miles of the sun? Sure.

And do you think this supposed craft will melt long before it 'touches' the sun?

According to the article they don't expect it to get any closer to the sun than the quoted 4 million miles. Which I presume is the location of the sun's corona, the object of the whole mission.

I believe I read somewhere that the sun's corona is much hotter than the sun's surface, one of the mysteries to be looked into, hopefully.

Why exactly do you hope so? What material difference will it make to you life; and as a supplemental question, would you say that you're a gullible type of person?

To only be interested in what can enrich my own life is a little to selfish for my taste. What they discover could have benefits for our grandkids or great grand kids.

I get that you are not curious scientifically but try not to stand in the way of those who are.

As for the last part of your post, no, I am cynical by nature.

I wouldn't dream of it: my mission is to try and make them perceive the difference between real science and faux science, and to put the fraudsters on notice that there's someone out here who's on to them.

    1) Truth is truth regardless of how many times it's posted.

    2) You are free to state or quote "the number of times" I've posted this truism.

    3) Dude, you are what you are and everyone can see it. Your reply proves my point.

Giving US troops free passage through their areas, it seems ISIS really likes US troops! They drive our vehicles, use our weapons, get special treatment from our Air Force. It's almost like they are working for us.....

Why would the US support ISIS? The fact ISIS stays out of the way of the US is more about them not getting killed than liking US troops.

Capturing weapons is part of warfare, especially guerrilla warfare. During Vietnam when the M-16 first came out, some US troops would use captured reliable AK-47s rather than the new "Mattel" rifle prone to jamming. Does that mean the USSR or PRC was supplying US troops to fight the Viet Cong? Of course not. That'd be a stupid assumption.

Why would the US government NOT support ISIS? The US government is essentially controlled by Israeli interests, and Israel wants Syria overthrown.

BTW, I met old man Stoner who designed the AR15. USA Ordnance redesigned it to become the M16, and it was a huge mistake.

There's no such thing as faux science. Simply put, science is just a set of symbols invented by humans to describe observed reality. A tool.

Here's a sample of observed reality on topic: RT published their first article about the satellite images on September 24, then took it down, then re-published an edited article without any explanation. As far as I can tell, missing text on images is the main difference between the original article (with text) and the edited version.

    The images:
    original article https://twitter.com/zeynalxidirov2/status/912000857796988928

    edited article: https://twitter.com/mod_russia/stat...ww.rt.com/news/404365-us-special-forces-isis/

The text says on one picture "supporting point", and on the other "ammunition depot". Ammunition depot?

Any thoughts on why did RT delete the text on the images without explanation? What is real and what is faux here? Is the observed reality, in this case, just a make-believe? Seems so to me.

Of course, "the Jooooooos!" did it. ROFL

No, the US doesn't support ISIS and "the Jooos" don't control the US. The US supports Israel and other nations for Constitutionally-driven security or economic interests. The same for going to war, although sometimes "do-gooder" politics creeps in such as Clinton sending troops into Bosnia and Haiti.

    Max

Like many americans, you are rather uninformed regarding the influence of AIPAC and Israel inside the Beltway. It seems you are also unable to distinguish between Jewish individuals and the Israeli government. 2 very different things.

Tulsi Gabbard and many others who have "been there, done that" acknowledge the US support for ISIS. Covert, of course, but support nonetheless.

The socialists are propagating the war.
Or perhaps you can show us any demonstrable small government, free market, personal liberty focused action by our governnent in the past 25 years.
It's the same folks running this show

One thing I've never seen is a socialist who can produce a working example of a socialist society at the national level. When I ask why (pointing the USSR, China, etc), they always say "well, real socialism hasn't been tried yet". Some try to point out some Euro countries which have socialist aspects, but they quickly demur when it's pointed out those same countries are monarchies, democracies/republics and capitalist.

It wouldn't surprise me in the least. After all it wouldn't be the first time the great U S of A has backed the wrong horse? I often ask on here - WTF has happened to America, a country for which I once had so much respect and admiration? It has lost its way that's for sure.

Unless I'm missing something big, I don't really understand what reportage of Russian military maps and manouvres, redacted or otherwise, has to do with The Great Cosmology Confidence Trick? [IMG]
