The Democrats cut the Republicans out and passed their own bill and never even admitted what was wrong with it or that it is even failing. The Republicans passed bills and set them to the Democrats and the Democrats never passed counter bills to start the negotiations.
And we are STILL stuck with the failing Democrat Obamacare. Ao do tell me what do the Democrats propose to fix it!

    They rushed it.

So again we remain stuck with the failing Democrat Obamacare which the Democrats won't even admit is failing.

What you were able to watch on TV was the end of the process. It was not the process.

    (my emphases) Excerpted from
    https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2015/07/the-real-story-of-obamacares-birth/397742/

Chairman Max Baucus, in the spring of 2009, signaled his desire to find a bipartisan compromise, working especially closely with Grassley, his dear friend and Republican counterpart, who had been deeply involved in crafting the Republican alternative to Clintoncare. Baucus and Grassley convened an informal group of three Democrats and three Republicans on the committee, which became known as the “Gang of Six.” They covered the parties’ ideological bases; the other GOPers were conservative Mike Enzi of Wyoming and moderate Olympia Snowe of Maine, and the Democrats were liberal Jeff Bingaman of New Mexico and moderate Kent Conrad of North Dakota.

...Through the summer, the Gang of Six engaged in detailed discussions and negotiations to turn a template into a plan. But as the summer wore along, it became clear that something had changed; ...

What became clear before September, when the talks fell apart, is that Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell had warned both Grassley and Enzi that their futures in the Senate would be much dimmer if they moved toward a deal with the Democrats that would produce legislation to be signed by Barack Obama. They both listened to their leader. An early embrace by both of the framework turned to shrill anti-reform rhetoric by Grassley—talking, for example, about death panels that would kill grandma...

Obama could have moved earlier to blow the whistle on the faux negotiations; he did not, as he held out hope that a plan that was fundamentally built on Republican ideas would still, in the end, garner at least some Republican support.

To be sure, the extended negotiations via the Gang of Six made a big difference in the ultimate success of the reform, but for other reasons. When Republicans like Hatch and Grassley began to write op-eds and trash the individual mandate, which they had earlier championed, as unconstitutional and abominable, it convinced conservative Democrats in the Senate that every honest effort to engage Republicans in the reform effort had been tried and cynically rebuffed.

The "tens of millions of retired baby boomers" do not, will not be using ACA. They will be on Medicare.

    And again
ROFL I doubt there is little you can instruction me on government and legislative process so save your little snarky breath and try to have an intellectual debate here.

Obamacare remains the health system, the Democrats still own the health system. It still needs to at the least fixed if not replaced entirely.

So what's the next move? The Democrats and from what I can see of the leftist on the board care more about declaring a Republican failure when in fact the issue is THEIR failure which remains in place.

If the best you can do are your snarky remarks instead of something intellectual to add don't bother to reply.

He did stand his ground. He knew he didn't have the votes. He pulled the bill.

"They rushed it" ???!!!:roflol: HOW many years did they have to form a plan that TRUMP SAID would be in place in only a matter of days, maybe even in an hour!

W H O was rushing it.......gee, maybe it "was a little more complicated than anyone thought" ???

BTW, I have heard many Democrats criticize the plan.......and Repubs hide the FACT that premiums would not have gone up if Rubio hadn't omitted the part where Insurance companies are reimbursed for losses...

The only thing I wrote about what he said, I put into quotes: "complicated". Maybe you didn't know he said...

So far, your version of winning is an impotent clown who can't get a single law passed even though his party controls the government. He's spending his time in pleated khakis on the golf course, a place that was rage inducing when Obama did it. Look, I understand you just want to talk about how you feel you won instead of the incredible failure you put in to office. However, since assuming control there hasn't been much winning, just looking like the impotent coward he is.

This has been a disastrous first 65 days, you're already thinking about winning again?

Yep because the Republicans and even some Democrats could never support a public insurance option which was being pushed by the Democrat side so in the end Grassely and Enzi said no while the most liberal Republican Snowe did signal she could support some sort of triggered public option the ad hoc informal group was disbanded and the Democrafs wrote their own plan and we ended up with this mess.

It certainly says what the Cult of Trump does not want openly said.

They're like a possessive congregation that can't admit that they share their deity with another.

Sorry mate but I don't know what you mean.
I've asked this question several times now in PF- "Is Obamacare good or bad?" and am still waiting for a straight yes or no answer from anybody..:)

Sort of like BLM supporting obama and Hillary who openly support executing cops.
