That’s right but when you become an editorial you open yourself to libel and slander lawsuits.

If they don’t like that then they don’t need to editorialize.

Seems to me there's a lot of accusations about liberals and Chinese getting away with even more heinous tweets but a serious lack of examples.

Twitter put themselves in a bad position. It is impossible to fact check every message, so they are only using their reach for political purposes. With an election coming up, wouldn't this be interference?

Interference? Is that what you call free speech?

    They have rules.
They own the site. It's not a gov't site.
tRUMP can go post on other sites if he feels he's not being treated fairly. Like QANON.

It's still a free country. He can take his anger to another social media site. Like QANON.

So, don't use twitter if you don't like their rules.
    Problem solved.
    Go use QANON.

Twitter (/ˈtwɪtər/) is an American microblogging and social networking service on which users post and interact with messages known as "tweets". Registered users can post, like, and retweet tweets, but unregistered users can only read them. Users access Twitter through its website interface, through Short Message Service (SMS) or its mobile-device application software ("app").[15] Twitter, Inc. is based in San Francisco, California, and has more than 25 offices around the world.[16] Tweets were originally restricted to 140 characters, but was doubled to 280 for non-Asian languages in November 2017.[17]

Twitter was created in March 2006 by Jack Dorsey, Noah Glass, Biz Stone, and Evan Williams, launched in July of that year. The service rapidly gained worldwide popularity. In 2012, more than 100 million users posted 340 million tweets a day,[18] and the service handled an average of 1.6 billion search queries per day.[19][20][21] In 2013, it was one of the ten most-visited websites and has been described as "the SMS of the Internet".[22][23] As of 2018, Twitter had more than 321 million monthly active users.[11]

Are you saying social media sites have to cowtow to liars and nutters?

Isn't there a site for those types if one doesn't like twitter?
    I hear QAnon works.

Are you suggesting gov't shut down social media sites it doesn't like? Would that be the equivalent of gov't squelching free speech? Isn't there a 1A in the constitution preventing that?

    Should QAnon be shut down?
Rush Limbaugh and all the other radio shows that provide lopsided view points, should be shut down?

    Is tRUMP being a hypocrite?
Or is he threatening to shut down RW talk Radio also?

I bet tRUMP is being a hypocrite. tRUMP is the gov't right now. That would be a violation of 1A.

Are the supporters of tRUMP being hypocrites supporting the squelch on free speech?

You would have something if I had indeed voted for Trump in the election. I am under no obligation to inform you of who I voted for, but, I will tell you anyway; I chose the write-in option and put Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

I assume everything that comes from trump is false. I also understand those who need their information predigested and spoon fed to them. What I don't understand is how people can defend suppression of speech they don't agree with. Lets not pretend that their policy applies to everyone equally.

No one is forced to use big tech equipment or platforms.

Yet, everyone here does so in one fashion or another. They must like them some big tech.

Does talk radio policies apply equally to everyone?

I don't think they do. Should they be forced to?

So you agree that Twitters business model should be treated like talk radio company?

Try making a coherent point and I will. You accused a corporation of “interference” which in America we call free speech.

It may be over board, but not likely illegal.

Stealing property is something people have been getting shot for, for a long long time.

Trump doesn't want to take his anger to another social media site. Otherwise he would have done so already.

Trump forgets that shutting down Twitter will cost him his base of millions.

But it should alert us that Trump really doesn't really care about his Twitter base and couldn't care less about free speech.

Because he wants to shut it all down; Twitter, Facebook, perhaps the entire internet if it speaks up against him. And then shut down democracy if is still rears its head.

    Because that's what dictators do.

They shoot down protests and abandon free speech.

The gloves have come of Trumps tiny dictator hands.

Twitter is his last hope of gaining support to reelection.

He lost his only hope, the economy. Well, he had 1 other hope, campaign rallies where the press gave him free press.

He loses twitter, he loses all contact.
