You didn't ask my opinion on how to heal. You projected what's "in my mind".

Acting like the handful of violent thugs represent 74 million voters and calling people "right wing nuts" sounds similar to Biden's "healing" rhetoric. Nice job repeating the usual divisive talking points.

I don't see Biden keeping his promise. That failure to even attempt unity, combined with unpopular actions on important issues will likely see his approval rating drop to about the level of Bush's or Carter's at the end of the day.

And you don't think it's in any beholding on you to be the one who compromises in this situation? After the right wing MAGA
mess, you don't think the right has any karma debt in being the one who gives first? Nothing. Biden has to kiss the MAGA ring.

    Whatever.

I think it's mainly up to individuals to treat each other with respect. Respecting others' different opinions means no one has to compromise to value others as human. Nobody should be ring kissers to show a little kindness.

Being kind and encouraging civilized debates across the aisle is clearly not what Biden has in mind, so we will be "treated" to four more years of political fighting and general dysfunction. He's already broken his "unity" promise.

Biden has kept many promises already. He's done exactly what he said he would do. It's quite intellectually dishonest to conflate a call to unity with a promise to unify. The whole post is rejected on veracity.

Nobody can promise to unify. Smh

When people are of the opinion that crime go unpunished, they have waived any possibility to unify with rule of law loving people. If Republicans want unity, they first have to acknowledge the Big Lie, apologize to the nation, show remorse for their actions, and resign. Hawley first. Then Cruz.

Only then can y'all ever hope to unify with patriotic democracy loving Americans. Otherwise, maybe Dire Straits can come to your house and sing Money For Nothing.

    I want my Trump TV
    I want my Trump TeeeeeVee

That's the theme he ran on. It was a campaign promise. He's started off on the wrong foot.

All Cruz and Hawley did was object to a few states electoral counts. Several Democrats did the exact same thing in 2016. Many elections have Congressmen raise some objections.

There is no Big Lie. Some investigations will continue in several states to investigate election irregularities and to try to fix election integrity issues so that everyone feels better about our state systems in 2022.

No one disagrees that crime should go unpunished. Seems some people are being dishonestly accused of crimes which were not committed, or at least have yet to have any due process, which is what our civil society has always called for.

Saying that half the country's citizens are not patriotic democracy loving Americans is not unifying. Making demands on what other people "have to do" is not unifying.

Let me see if I got this straight:

***An Extreme RW Publication (still monumentally frustrated over losing the Election, and facing reality after pushing a Bullcrap "Bigfoot Rigged it" Election narrative)--Is posting a Biden Hit Piece?

***Oh well, If the GOP really wanted 'UNITY", then they shouldn't have pushed a Fantastical Bullcrap "It was stolen" Election narrative that had less credibility that a Nessie sighting.

    ***"dial down hostilities"?

Is that was Trump was doing when he incited a Deadly Act of Domestic Terrorism?

    Yeah, right. :bored:

    ***The article was Totally PREDICTABLE.:bored:
It was sour grapes to the max.:bored:

    Conclusion:

Breitbart (and anybody who follows Breitbart) is going to be in for a LONG 4 Years.

And so you've made up your mind - that's the way it has to be for 4 more years ... after just 5 days in office.
In other words your talk of "respect" was bull crap. You have no respect for Biden's capacity to learn and grow.
    I'm not impressed.

If Biden pivots, I can change my opinion. Right now, it looks like Biden is only inspired to keep up further dividing the country.

You can be as impressed or not impressed as you'd like. I can respect that as your option.

Nobody is demanding unity. What people are demanding is a set of requirements before unity can happen. Principles. Adult human stuff.

You can't support overthrowing a fair election by asking officials to commit crimes and failing that, attempt a violent insurrection, and then expect to unify with people who believe in the rule of law. Ain't gonna happen. Can't happen. Get on board or watch Trump TV. I don't care, myself. I'm sure many millions don't, either.

Biden will never stop calling for unity. That's who he is. I don't care to unify with traitors. The South lost. Trump lost. Time to move on.

Exactly. To people like Lonegal “unity” is Biden continuing Trumps policies.

Conversation usually flows more smoothly if you ask people what they think instead of deciding what they think. But maybe that's just me.

Let me try "unifying communication" your way and see if it's better.

To people like ECA, "unity" is firing conservatives from their jobs, making them wear hair shirts and identifying badges, subjecting them to public shaming and flogging, and separating their children to lock them in cages for reeducation.

Nah. That didn't feel right. I'll just going back to writing what I think and not assuming what others think.

Those were some fine right wing talking points. There is a reason Trump knew he could count on people like you to mindlessly follow him.

No irony. Regardless of election irregularities, Biden has been the legal president for five days. We've had a peaceful transition of power and Biden is now in charge.

I'll continue to support candidates who promise border security, leveling trade with China so they don't have an economic advantage, lowering taxes for the people, and being oil-independent for national independence and security. Hopefully we get a candidate better at calmly explaining why those policies are better for America than other policy answers.

Democrats will continue to prefer candidates promoting the opposite policies from those on the right.

Differences on political solutions and ideas doesn't mean that people can't unify as Americans first. It means differences can be discussed rationally over a cup of coffee, not discussed rudely yelling with daggers in hand. Intelligent and rational people from both sides never stopped the feelings of unity among our fellow citizens or completely gave up on reason.

    More coffee. Less daggers.

This I agree on. The only problem is the intelligent and rational people from both sides are in the minority.
