My parents never thought that their sons were no good. But they definitely did not like which directions my generation headed.
The way we dressed, our haircuts, the way we thought, the way we wanted to live, our music, drugs, experimentation with socialism and communism, communes, all and every sex equal, the ease we had with people of different race, ethnicity, religion, you name it.
Never has been a generation like mine, standing up for freedom, especially individual freedom world wide, we took our freedom, faught for it, got beaten up, water cannoned, teargased and some got killed.
The irony, its the generation which rules today and they have turned 180 degree, became the most oppressive, controlling, Orwel generation ever.

Ireland shouldn't even get a say in the matter since, last time I checked, they were a foreign country locked in the EU. If they wanted a say, they should never have left the UK.
What do they do for the world that isn't a tax haven or cultural?
At least the UK invents things and does stuff; What has Ireland ever done for the world?

That's right, humanity with its open borders and multi-culturism have lost its way... every man dog... cow and his neighbour now has input into matters they should not

We must revoke the rights of Irish people to meddle in our affairs such as our elections; and since all they can do is threaten to blow up the EU's border, and UK shouldn't negotiate with terrorists anyway - No one should fear a hard border on the island of Ireland since it is EU. Whatever happens to Ireland is Ireland's problem and isn't our problem since as I said before, it's not our country, what they do in Ireland is up to them, why can't what we do in the UK be up to the UK?

I totally agree with you, I'm all for living inside your border, doing what's right for your country within those borders. I was thoroughly disgusted with the Scottish when they voted no on their independence... they had their chance, they said no... now they should just sit down and shut up. Same goes for Irish who can't make up their mind if they want to be Irish or British.

It's not that complex; ignore the IRA and stop Irish people from having the right to vote in the UK and revoke any automatic duel citizenship since it's a foreign country. If someone's British or Irish and wishes to move to the other country, then they can apply for duel citizenship like how it works in every other country on the planet.

The four nations of a union of nations are Wales, NI, Scotland and English - that is our ethnicity - the four nations together form the UK and are called British we are British citizens all. Great Britain is the largest island of the group of islands we are a part of - The UK is NI and GB. .

Anyone can become a British citizen but they can't become Welsh, Irish, Scottish or English/Sassenach.

Well clearly not everyone sees it that way... so merely how you feel and your opinion.

Those are facts - facts as opposed to opinions. Every one with a British birth cert or passport is a British Citizen - it is a civil title..
Welsh, Scots, Irish, English are ethnicities - these are our islands, our lands with a written history of over a thousand years - longer if you include the Romans.

I have an Irish stepson, he will tell you in no uncertain terms that he is Irish, and if you tried to convince him he's really part of the happy British family, he'll tell you to "feck off"

and clearly Rhetoric also don't want to hold hands

It really makes no sense to recognise Ireland as a foreign country and then have it meddle with yours.

British is a civil title. If he is Northern Irish he is a British Citizen. If he is from the Republic he is not. His happiness about it is irrelevant - If he is American then he is an American Citizen which does not cancel out him being Irish of ethnicity, does it?

Rhetoric doesn't come from here - I don't know where he comes from but it isn't England.

Ok so his happiness doesn't matter... but reverend "who-se-ma-what-its" cow's happiness does. Me thinks you turn the situation just as it suits you.

Rhetoric is in the UK I think...just checked and his profile page says GB...

The Republic is a separate State. Northern Ireland is a part of the United Kingdom. It just has a land border with one a problem the solution of which is being discussed.

Of course happiness matters but it is irrelevant to the fact that he is a British Citizen if he is NIish. If he is a Republican in NI he is not alone in hating the British and not wishing to be a part of it - but he is, like it or not, until or unless they win their cause and become an independent island country. Paisley was a terrible man, Loyalist, but the quote proved the point I was making.

    I question that.

The Irish do not interfere with your elections and you have no power over Ireland.
It isn't the Republic of Ireland who is threatening to do this, it is the British side, you know the ones who for a while were keeping your party in power.

The UK is not negotiating with terrorists. It is being held to account over the Good Friday Agreement.
You know nothing about the situation there and you believe you can speak for it? Well no surprise really. What are political forums for but such fun. ;)
As you interchange with Ireland and Northern Ireland. Ireland is in the EU and the EU is speaking for it. In particularly to get the current low life Government to honour the Good Friday Agreement. That affects everyone on the Island. Northern Ireland is most certainly Britain's 'problem' given that it is part of Britain, was keeping the Tories in power and the UK has a responsibility to live up to its side of the Good Friday Agreement or take responsibility for the consequences and they, not least if unrest looks likely, mean NO Deal with the USA. What's the betting the US starts funding arms for them again?

Back to the drawing board with you.
