It's often said by the useful idiots that the EU has prevented wars in Europe. That's because the leaders, past and present, of the member states and their fellow-traveller elitists haven't wanted to cause a war; to do so would be to disturb their current personal wealth-gathering thanks to the prodigious amount of tax revenue courtesy of the populaces of those member states. I suspect that the first crack in this social engineering project is beginning to show though, and that France may be on the cusp of a revolution.

It never made sense to me that countries as wealthy and advanced as Great Britain and Germany would want to co-govern with countries like Portugal, Croatia, and countries like that. It seems to me that the country's of the EU want to give the United States the middle finger and it is biting them in the ass. With the wealth and influence that they had why do they want to be forced to help out a bunch of lesser performers.

The EU project wasn't designed 'to make sense', it was designed to be a bureaucrats' Utopia.
