    The sooner the better. She was the wrong person to lead Brexit because she was a remainer.

    The problem is that it isn’t just about getting rid of May, it’s about replacing her. What they’re missing is someone willing to put their head above the parapet and present themselves as a viable alternative. The obvious problem is that the first question they’d be asked would be “What would you do differently with Brexit?” and there is no answer that will satisfy the majority of their party, Parliament or the wider public.

    It seems clear that all of the nominally viable leadership candidates are keeping their heads down at the moment, hoping that the mess that is Brexit can be blamed entirely on May and they can set up as the hero picking up the pieces afterwards.
