You were questioning the pressures, they are in the article. It ain't magic, it's engineering.

If you don't like being taxed, move somewhere that won't tax you.

    Problem solved.

Our tax dollars go to provide lower than market value rates to the oil companies, for leasing land.

But government didn't build gas stations and that's the equivalent to charging stations.

Further I do believe the givens subsidizes "green" energy as well.

Frankly I don't think the government should subsidize anything.

I agree. The fed shouldn’t pick winners and losers. I’m against corn subsidies, and frankly, I’m 100% against giving my tax dollars to any private business.

So, let oil companies start paying full market price for land.

Corn subsidies are why high fructose corn syrup is in everything.

I agree the government shouldn't pick winners
And don't interfere with them using it.

Just to respond on the plugs issue -
This isn’t really analogous to cell phone plugs. Those are also transmitting data and the specifications of the device are constantly changing within very tight parameters.
Cars will always be big enough to hold people, so there will always be space to put a plug somewhere. And it only has to deal with incoming electricity. All we are talking about is the shape of the plugs.
The government has standardized electrical plugs in the home, has standardized the size of gasoline and diesel pump nozzles - why not EV plugs?
And I completely disagree that it’s stupid for Europe to have standardiszed EV plugs. It is one of the reasons there are so many EVs in Europe.

I still don't think government should interfere with something they know nothing about. So some people will have to carry an adapter Big damn deal.
yeah still don't like government dictates over things they have no business dictating.
right and we don't have Superior plugs like they do in the UK have you seen theirs. Because our government mandated something it had no business mandating. Why not everything?
disagree the reason why there are so many in Europe is because they don't have as far to go.

I don't think the government needs to standardize anything the industry should standardize it. I don't think for a minute that people are thinking to themselves I would have an electric car but if it wasn't for heaven to carry around the damn adapter I mean I have one for my phone and my laptop and my tablet but four adapters is too much.

What do you find so offensive in seeing other people buy electric cars, or someone promoting them as a good idea?

    What do you car?

I drive a gasoline powered car, but I sure as heck don't care what cars other people drive. I work from home, so gas price is irrelevant to me.

We have a 2013 Tesla P85 and it is doing great. Not bad for a first generation car from a non-legacy auto manufacturer. Still used for a daily commute regularly and costs us ~$40 a month in energy costs without solar. With solar it drops to zero but you have to factor in the cost of the system.

Telling people that can’t afford gas to buy something they can’t afford.

No one told me such thing. I think its a good choice for many people, but personally I opted for gas operated car.

Besides, there are affordable electric cars for those who desire them but can't afford a Tesla. I know some people who drive electric cars and they are very happy with them.

    To each his own

Why are you offended by personal choices made by other people?

Well, if it triggers you, then so be it. Some people live in constant state of being offended.

Me, I couldn't care less. I think electric cars are a good option for many people. The more options, the better.

Hydrogen cars are already on the road. The problem is, there is limited locations to get fuel.

    https://www.toyota.com/mirai/

The biggest issue with Hydrogen is it take quite a bit of power to create pure hydrogen. The argument is often made that it isn't green because we are dependent on oil and coal for energy it offsets the savings. Much like electric vehicles.

So I think nuclear power and hydrogen vehicles that maintain range, have zero emissions, and don't sacrifice power are the best solution. Semi-tractor trailers can even use this fuel, trains, planes.

The only thing coming out of the exhaust is water.

As opposed to leasing it to who else for what purpose? How does that compare to the leases for windmills and solar panels?

This is about distribution and the retail market. Did the federal government spend tens of billions to build gas stations?
